My comments:
There is some good and interesting information in the article at the above link, but I believe it is also skewed and has some serious error.
No, Trump and so-called evangelical "Christians" who back him are not turning the nation to paganism and atheism. The nation has already been turned to such BY THE MAINSTREAM HARLOT CHURCH that embraces sin and what God called abominations; and the Apostate Church has parroted the Devil's lie that God abolished His Law—so anything is "fair game". It is apostate preachers and apostate denominations and apostate churchgoers, who with a steady diet of humanism / Arminianist doctrine, have already inoculated the former Christian masses against the truth, and after having jettisoned so many Bible doctrines, they then realized "why continue the facade?" and give up faith in the God of the Bible altogether (which is the plan of Arminianism and modernism / liberalism, and its only logical end: they are the "step-down program" by which such wean themselves entirely from the Word of God; once one doctrine is abandoned, all the rest fall out like teeth in a rotting jaw, and the person, after he "steps down" enough, ends up in sub-basement 9).
Furthermore, if such people are being turned away from the mainstream Christian Church —WONDERFUL...!
First of all, the mainstream "Christian" Church is the Apostate / Harlot Church that has committed fornication with all the kings of the earth (multiculturalism and homoperversion). If any Christian never pads the pews of such stinking pseudo-churches, that may be the best thing that ever happens to them, as they cannot learn heresy if they are not listening to it on a weekly basis. As Jefferson said, "He who knows nothing is closer to the truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehood and error". Learning the truth is not nearly as hard as unlearning error and deprogramming brainwashing. Each would do better to read the Bible for himself (once learning the basic rules to understand Scripture: God is Immutable and Perfect, Holy and True and does not change; and therefore, His Word does not change and any "contradiction" is a misreading); rather than sit in a church service and learn error—even in many of the hymns, which is even more-subtle brainwashing.
Secondly, if the churches from which such persons turn away are true Churches (a statistical rarity), then GOOD...! —such apostates don't belong there, who will only corrupt the true church from within.
"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." (I John 2:19)
God is cleaning house... culling His herd... separating the chaff from His wheat.
Also, the true Church is supposed to be a check against evil government; it is not supposed to be a "silent witness" and the true Church is NOT supposed to be separate from the State but actually a separate and equal power and check against corrupt, abusive, godless government (and corrupt churches). If the government is evil—it is the church's fault. The church is supposed to influence the State; not vice versa. If the government is evil, that's what the Church deserves for being STERILE. You reap what you sow. Joseph de Maistre expressed, "Every nation has the government it deserves".
Certainly Trump will not win "Christian of the year award" when he arrives at the Pearly Gates—IF he even finds himself admitted. But that is not the issue.
First of all, WHOM should Jerry Falwell, Jr. HAVE endorsed? HILLARY? RUBIO? CRUDZ? SANDLERS? Clearly it was an issue of "the lesser of vomitous evils". WHOSE FAULT IS IT that there were no TRUE CHRISTIANS who were Bible believers, Constitutionalists, and non-globalists, non-Zionists on the ballot? It was the fault of THE CHRISTIAN CHURCHES. The crapture doctrine is to be thanked for that, as well as false shepherds who claim that Christians should not be involved in politics. CHRISTIANS SHOULD CONTROL politics!
Plato expressed,"The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men" and "One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."
"The fate of those who refuse to partake in politics is to be ruled by inferior men".
Edmund Burke expressed, "All that is required for evil to triumph over good is for good men to to nothing."
However, I say, if "good men" do nothing in the face of evil, they are not really good, are they? James wrote: "To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him it is sin." Those who don't stand up for what Christ would have stood up to and spoken out against and exposed... they DENY Christ. Professing or denying Christ is not merely the professing or denying of a "name"—but everything that Christ is... not merely in words, but in deeds. "Be ye DOERS of the Word, not hearers alone, deceiving your own selves." "Even a child is known by his doings" [not his sayings]. As the old saying goes: If it were a crime to be a Christian would there be any evidence to convict you...? I do not mean according to the world's notion of what being a Christian means (which changes each day to be more and more sinful). TRUE Christians are followers of Christ—those who OBEY all God's Commands, even as Christ did, to show us the way. "If you Love Me, keep My commandments"; "If ye keep My commandments ye shall abide in My Love even as I have kept the Father's Commandments and abide in His Love". Christ had no commandments of His own. He came to do His Father's Will and that is our job to—to obey. Obedience to God's Law does not save. Those truly regenerated unto new life will want to obey and will naturally bear that fruit. Those who claim to be Christians who don't live as Christ did by God's Commands, are not Christians, but deluded humanists.
Secondly, do you think that Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus and Darius were dedicated believers in the true God, who forsook all other gods and lived exemplary moral lives according to the Holy Scriptures...? I rather doubt it. However, God raised them up for a purpose; and the same applies to all the wicked kings of Israel and Judah. Those who were wicked and godless weren't intended to be the moral compass of the nation, but the barometer.
If Christian Churches want better candidates to endorse—the Christian Churches need to actually become Christian themselves; but as it is, they are salt that has not merely lost its "flavor"... but its "saltiness": its identity—that which makes it salt. If salt does not remain separate / segregated / sealed from the pollutants around it, it becomes a "salty bastard solution", but not salt. Salt preserves meat because it kills bacteria and salt is needed for all bodily processes and the process of electrolysis by the chemical charge that it contains. What Christ said is "if salt has BECOME INSIPID..." (FOOLISH—and fools in Scripture do not merely refer to people with low IQs: Fools in Scripture are synonymous with WICKED people). Let's complete Christ's declaration, but substitute the word salt with whom salt represents in His mini-parable: "But if the CHURCH [not a "building", but the preacher and the congregants who "claim" to be "Christians"—God's people) ... if the CHURCH / God's people have become insipid [foolish in terms of WICKEDNESS in doing the very opposite of what wisdom, morality, and godliness demands] they is GOOD FOR NOTHING but to be cast out and TRAMPLED under foot of man". THAT is what is happening. If you are not a missionary you are a mission field. If you are not influencing the world the world is influencing you. If you are not leading the dog the dog is leading you.
"Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but reprove [rebuke] them!" (Ephesians 5:11)
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." (II Timothy 3:12)
If the world loves you, guess what...? —you're on THEIR side, not God's, and "whosoever would be a friend of the world is the enemy of God"...!
If so-called Churches, Pastors, Christians don't like the political candidate options — then they need to look in the MIRROR (of God's Word) and REPENT of their OWN sin [and if they don't know what the Law of God Commands, then they are in sin*] and then start preaching and living what GOD commanded (which will make the world hate them—then there is no confusion concerning whose side you are on) and THEN you can oppose evil with righteousness. Christ said that those who deny Him before men, He Himself will deny before His Father Who is in Heaven. This denial is by ACTIONS, not mere words. Christ said, "If ye continue in My Word, then are ye my disciples indeed" (John 8:31). "Word" here is the Greek logos (two short os, as in hop) and in this instance means, "Doctrine". It is not the Greek word hreymata which simply mean, "words, things spoken". Logos means "Logic, Reasoned / Rational Thought / Discourse, and by extension, Truth. We are His disciples "indeed" if we in deeds obey Him, thus continuing in, walking in His Word.
[* How long would a person keep a job if he didn't know what his boss expected him to do...? How honorable is a child if he does not know what his father demands of him...? Ignorance is no excuse for disobedience, because God commands us to study His Law day and night and to know His Will. Also, Christ Himself declared, "47And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." (Luke 12) However, those who CHOOSE to be ignorant are just as guilty as those who know; because we are supposed to know. After a certain point in time ignorance itself is a sin. If you have time to watch tv, movies, criminals play with a ball, etc., then you have no excuse to not know God's Word. Even in the Old Testament, ignorant sin was sin nonetheless and still required sacrifices to cover it. Furthermore, sin is not repented of unless one turns from what God forbade and turns to what He commanded; confessing the sin, eschewing it, and asking forgiveness for it through Christ's Sacrifice. Anything less is a pseudo-spiritual delusion. There is no repentance without confession AND OBEDIENCE.

Christ taught Occupy till I come, and Paul wrote, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but REBUKE them... this is not consonant with “turning the other cheek” to God’s enemies, the enemies of Christendom, immoral people, criminals, etc., which is not what Christ was teaching. ]
But as it stands, the mainstream "Christian" Apostate polluted Harlot Church deserves to die out. Some are worse than others; many Christ will not even recognize. Many are the Church of Laodicea which, like lukewarm water, Christ said that He would VOMIT out of His Mouth; meaning, that they would have no part in Him, the Living Water; and others are the Church of Ephesus which lost its first love (the true Christ and HIS TRUE DOCTRINE)... who instead follows false christs and seeks to please the world.
If some people (including "Christians"—most of whom are humanist, socialist, liberals) reject Christianity based upon the actions of other "Christians" (whether they are true Christians or not) rather than rejecting Christianity because they reject the DOCTRINE of the Word of God (which the majority of "Christian" Churches themselves have rejected in favor of nondoctrinal, nonrational humanistic "feelings"), then THEY ARE FOOLS and God has ordained them unto condemnation and sent them a spirit of delusion and THAT is why they have abandoned Christianity...!
While being a "warmonger" is indeed PART of the problem, the problem is a "CLUSTER" a "COMPLEX", not a singular pathology—and being a warmonger is a SYMPTOM, one MANIFESTATION of the problem. The ROOT of the problem is what I have written above.
