"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

The below link is an excellent article by the dedicated founder of Wisconsin Christian News

Here are (for what its worth) my introductory additional thoughts stirred by his challenging article.

"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3)

"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the Law, happy is he." (Proverbs 29:18)

Vision does not mean godless, humanistic daydream.  In combining the two verses above, it seems that the vision is like that of an architect who envisions the final result once his blueprints have been actualized as reality in the finished product.  So it is with God's Word.  He gave us all we need to live godly and PROSPER... but the laws of the universe cannot be violated and think that everything will turn out peachy.  The Law does not refer to any generic notion of Law, but the Law of God, the only Standard of Morality.

“Liberty cannot be saved without a general knowledge among the people.” —John Adams

“The Bible is the source of Liberty.” —Thomas Jefferson

This knowledge refers to the understanding of the principles of truth which explain that liberty, as a building, can only be constructed in certain way that will prevent its collapse.

“Above all I hope that the education of the common people will be attended to, so they won’t forget the basic principles of freedom.” —Thomas Jefferson

“Bad men cannot make good citizens.  It is impossible that a nation of infidels or idolaters should be a nation of freemen.  It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom. No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence of justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue, and by a frequent recurrence of fundamental principles.” —Thomas Jefferson

“I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform them!” —Thomas Jefferson

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.” —John Adams

[By religious, people of his era and the Puritans and Pilgrims and Reformers meant "Christianity"--to them Christianity was the only true religion and they are right; they had no notion of multiculturalism or interfaith; that thought never entered their mind.  "Our posterity" = our people.  Only a psychotic irrationality can believe that opposing faiths and alien peoples can "live in harmony".  They were not meant to.  They cannot.  Their religion teaches that they are to subject all under their foot or kill those who do not submit.  God commanded us to be separate and no other gods.  There can be no harmony.  Our lands are polluted with pagan temples from coast to coast and God cannot bless us until we repent of those abominations; and so, we will be destroyed by those other gods that we have allowed which are abominations in God's Sight; and because the stench of our sins has reached into Heaven, God will not hear our prayers until we repent (and there is no repentance without turning away from sin and turning to what God commanded; there is only a pseudo-spiritual delusion).

"...it is not a case of the wolf at the gate, but of one already in the sheepfold dressed in sheepskins and treated as though it were the prize member of the flock." William Kirk Kilpatrick (psychologist)]

God's people need to wake up; this means to look at the vile evil that surrounds us and not pretend that it does not exist--and do something about it.  Who would simply ignore a cancerous spot he discovered on his own body? (other than someone who does not care if he suffers and dies or not)  To ignore evil is to deny Christ.  Christ would not ignore it.

Now, Scripture does say that we ought not even to mention the evil that some do.

Ephesians 5:12: For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret".

No verse is an island unto itself.  Verses do not contradict each other, but each has its own jurisdiction and application.  God commands in Proverbs:

Answer NOT a fool according to his folly lest you become like him.

But Scripture also says ANSWER a fool according to his folly lest he be wise in his own eyes."

The issue is one of discernment in learning WHICH to apply.  The answer seems to be, if his mind is shut and he refuses correction, then you don't answer; but if he is merely stupid but is teachable and wants to do what is right and learn, then you tell him.  There is some point in any conversation when you realize a person's mind is shut.  In such cases you then shake the dust off your feet and move on.  You don't keep fishing in a lake once you realized that all the fish in it are dead or diseased (or contaminated).

In the very next verse in Ephesians Scripture  says: v.3

"But all things that are reproved [rebuked] are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light."

So then, the point of not even speaking of the evil refers to impotent talk that never plans to act.  While the word does not refer to gossip or slander or idle talk, that is pretty much the contextual meaning; because if v.2 meant that you could not speak about it at all, then you would not be able to rebuke it.  Thus, the command is not to gossip or merely talk for talking sake, not to merely discuss it in public which will only desensitize people to accept that evil, seeing that it is talked about but never acted upon.  Thus, there is to be discussion in private groups of godly men who will then pray and decide which course of action to take... even if the course of action is only to pray together and pray God drops His Judgment on the wicked; though that wicked does need to be publicly rebuked so all will know that "silence is not to be construed as consent" and so they will know when evil befalls these wicked people that they are not to be pitied or assisted because it is Judgment from God.  Thus, godly men have to talk about it so that the others know there is a problem, they can pray against it and then also publicly rebuke it in some manner so that the community knows such persons are evil and that if anyone associates with them they will share in God's Wrath.  If local pastors and elders are not doing this on a regular basis, they have been neutered, they are impotent, they are not ministers of Christ.

["Baal priest" may be a fitting term, figuratively, if not literally; but it applies even to some literally when one knows the evils that surrounded Baal worship (including phallic worship; and that is pretty much what is worshipped in a so-called "Christian" church that allows all sorts of abominations; when one allows members and even the preacher to be involved in sexual relationships outside the boundaries that God established: race mixing and homo-perversion (both of which God called abominations—and it does not matter that society and the Christian church has come to accept one or both; they are both abominations that God forbade) and adultery and fornication and "free love"—are all essentially Baal worship because such people consider their own bodies to be god—and they sacrifice to it whatever their body wants, even as Scripture says of many that "their god is their belly" (they over-consume--and they eat animals that God forbade, which God also called an abomination; abominations can never become acceptable behaviour; God called all these things abominations, Christians who think that God changed 2 of them, but not the third, well, that is why the third is now in its militant stages of takeover; accepting one sin as not sin only leads to more vile sins being considered not to be sin; even as perverts or gamblers or drug addicts continually need something stronger).  It indeed is Baal worship (even if it is not recognized as such) if like the belly, sexual appetites are lavishly fed and the everything is sacrificed and offered to the god that controls that insatiable lust that is fed, not controlled.]

BE VEXED about evil and rebuke it and do not participate in it; don't turn a blind eye to it.  Lot was vexed by the evil of his day, but he did not realize that he should not have been living in Sodom among aliens who had no chance of changing.

As I explained over 22 years ago in my The War Between the Children of God and the Powers of Darkness, Christ called us salt.  He was not referring to mere "flavoring" in every example.    "Ye are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its savour it is good for nothing but to be trampled under foot..." (Matthew 5:13).  This word savour is a bad translation.  It does not mean flavor.  It means, "insipid"—its root means "moron".  By implication, the meaning is "IMPOTENT".  Salt must remain SEPARATE from its environment or the salt becomes contaminated, it loses its purity, it loses its electrical charge—it is chemically changed and is no longer salt.  It may have a "saltiness", but it is ineffectual, impotent.  Salt preserves meat because it kills bacteria.  However, the overlooked point is: You do not waste salt on meat that is spoiled rotten, or meat that God forbade us to eat.

We see that Lot destroyed his entire household; it would have been better had they all died in Sodom! (if you know the rest of the story, and how one entire city of perverts that was going to be destroyed, was spared because Lot pleaded for that city to be spared so he could live in instead of living on a mountain in a cave--which town he had to leave immediately anyway since the people of that vile town drove him from it and he did end up living in a cave on a mountain for some undisclosed period of time).  It of course would be best had Lot's daughters and wife actually learned Righteousness and what God required and had Lot left Sodom 10 years earlier on his own, rather than allowing the minds of his family to be polluted (even if they had good intentions, what they did destroyed themselves and sired enemies of God who would help destroy God's people—not to mention the town of Zoar that was spared, so their vile perversions would be perpetuated and fill the land of Canaan by the time the Israelites came out of Egypt about 400 years later).

But even as Lot could not counteract the INFLUENCE that the wicked Sodomites had on the minds of his family, so also parents cannot raise their children properly if they send them to the public schools to be brainwashed for 6 to 8 hours a day; let them watch TV, movies, listen to the filth called music, let them surf the internet (it really was properly named, and parents don't realize the SHARKS that are in those internet waters), and let them hang around with unregenerate heathen as friends...  A Christian who allows such will lose his children and his name will be left as a curse; and if such a person enters Heaven and / or the Kingdom by God's Grace (having truly been converted, those his offspring were not), he may sadly enter alone, not with his own generations following him...

[Understand: It is irrational stupidity for a person to think that he would rather go Hell with his children.  The truth is he will never see them there; and his children won't see him.  Hell is not merely a bad vacation in a cheap motel.  Dump 50 billion people into a place of torment which is also dark, and even someone did by chance bump into one of his children (they odds are statistically against it, do the simple math), he would not recognize his child; nor vice versa; and the natural response to pain is aggression.  If you are already in torment and someone bumps into you in the dark, your response is not going to be inquisitive or compassionate, but violence.  This is not a pretty thought.  But tragedy is not prevented by refusing to think about unpretty thoughts or refusing to believe that they are reality.  It is prevented by thinking about such things and how to make the right choices so that such tragedy never strikes.  God says that He will wipe away all tears... but would it not be best to have as few tears as possible that need wiping away?  This is achieved by each person simply doing what is right and not turning from it.  Yes, we are all sinful and imperfect.  Sin is not to have excuses made for it, but to be repented of.  It does not matter how many people are doing it.  God will not Judge you based upon a sliding scale of the Bell Curve.  God will judge you according to what you did as compared to His Holy Standard.  Others will likewise be judged for what they did.  The only inter-relationship that will be a factor in what percentage of guilt you share in others' sins because you led them into it, or did not reprove them, or turned a blind eye to it.  All will sin and make mistakes, hopefully, the times a person falls will not be to any great degree if he endeavors to do what's right.  The proper response is not to stay in the mire when one falls, and just pretend it is okay.  Scripture says, "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again" (Proverbs 24:16).]

The majority of those who may even claim to be Christians don't really believe in God the Bible (it is a mere superstition, folkway, tradition).  You don't believe in God or the Bible if you don't live as God commanded* and if you are ashamed to admit what you believe; and if others around you don't know that you stand for God and what He declared morality to be, and that you do not agree with, do not accept, will not participate in or recognize the various flavors of perversion and immorality that proliferates society.

[* —having a novel excuse for any commandment or law of God that might be mentioned; those who are truly converted will obey to honor God out of appreciation for His Mercy and Grace and not being damned as we deserve--and a true Christian will want to see HOW CLOSE he can get to God and His Holy Standard of what He commanded; not see how far he can stray from it and still be accepted; the 5 foolish virgins who camped out on the threshold of the wedding chamber, but did not obey the Groom's command, found themselves shut out and unknown.]

Society* does not understand, it doesn't care.  Several entire generations have been lobotomized in the public schools... practically sociopaths.  They even changed the word from psychopath to sociopath, so that the psychopath can "feel better" about himself and "not have a guilty conscience"—IRONICALLY, a psychopath does not have a conscience so it cannot feel guilty; he has no conscience so he has nothing that he needs to "feel better" about!  To a psychopath, the rest of us are mere cattle in his way on the road of life (and if he happens to be hungry, you are slaughtered); this is the mind of the majority of the third world.  This is what the politicians have filled our society with to destroy us.  The corrupt politicians deny personal responsibility of all the CRIMINALS but not of the victims.  They also termed it sociopathology so that SOCIETY is to blame, and therefore, the taxpayers have to pay for it--with a non-ending tab continually being run up by corrupt politicians and appointees spending hundreds of billions of dollars to rehabilitate the unrehabilitatable--and a "conscience" cannot be grown in a petrie dish!

[* Society itself is a myth.  Society is not a real entity.  Society is the majority of the individuals in a community, or a minority of individuals with the most influence that tells the rest what they are supposed to be.  Public polls rarely are barometers, but thermostats.  They don't tell the people what they actually are thinking, they program people into thinking what they are told they should be thinking.  "Society" could change over night if a significant amount of people, including influential ones, stood up and refused to back down.  That's how the American Revolution began.  To prevent that from happening again is why they have flooded our nations with aliens; alien people, alien religions, alien practices —they have done it to FRAGMENT society to it is not cohesive and so it CANNOT stand together and so that there cannot be another American Revolution.  This is the fulfillment of the last kingdom of this earth, represented in Nebuchadnezzar's image of the feet of iron mingled with clay (which represents integration, though God commanded His people to be separate from aliens)—which itself is the fulfillment of End-time Babylon (Babylon means, "confusion by mixing").]

Want to know another irony...? due to their own policies of boundary-less free "love" and "experimentation" and suggesting perversion and experimentation even in grade school, paganism doesn't even have the solution... —there aren't even any vestal virgins left to toss into the volcano any more!    So the only thing left to sacrifice are true Christians.  Though it does not appear in his writings, it is attributed to Benjamin Franklin, "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."  Christ commanded, "Occupy till I come".
