—Black Lives Matter and Other African-American Ghost Stories (revised)

The below article by Dr. Don Boys, "Cops: Best Promoters of the Fact that Black Lives Matter!" offers some good insight.


Here are some additional thoughts that I had.

Those blacks who think that “cops are out to get them”* (ignoring the fact that most cops are not white) demonstrate the same mentality as those blacks who believe in ghosts.  

[* Yes, disease, bacteria, infection, parasites ought to believe that medicine (natural or synthetic) is “out to get them”.  However, healthy cells normally have nothing to worry about.  The very declaration of such blacks that the cops are out to get them is a confession of their own guilt.  Yes, the majority of politicians are corrupt.  Yes, a percentage of cops are corrupt (and will lie and cover each other in the “blue wall”, except in the most extreme cases; even as judges immorally protect each other in the “black wall”; and the politicians, who have no color wall named after them, merely extend “professional courtesy” to other bottom-feeding scavengers).  That blacks commit FAR more crime is not a myth.  It is a statistic.  Why do so many blacks want to move into white neighborhoods?  The currently black neighborhoods were wonderful white neighborhoods until the blacks and other nonwhites moved into white neighborhoods to get away from their own nonwhite people.  Nonwhites in such neighborhoods know white people are the problem and cops are not the problem.*

* —except the specific instances where there are dirty cops who are predators, and of course, those cases are real and not imaginary; but that does not define all cops, firefighters, and paramedics who risk their lives on a daily basis in such neighborhoods.  In my opinion, no emergency services paid for by tax money of white neighborhoods ought to go into nonwhite neighborhoods.  Stop all emergency services and they will soon learn WHO the problem is.  Furthermore, if they are our “equals” PROVE your equality.  Form YOUR OWN police, fire departments, and emergency services and take care of yourselves.

Why do nonwhites want to move into white neighborhoods?  The neighborhoods the nonwhites now have were destroyed by the nonwhites.  The problem is, they can’t escape from themselves or their own nature.  Thus, no matter what the problem is, the immoral or immature mind has a “silver bullet”: blame everything on the white man.  Nietzsche expressed, “The majority of men prefer delusion to truth.  It soothes.  It is easy to grasp.  Above all, it fits more snugly into a universe of false appearances.”  This explains the problem in general, but is a bit oversophisticated in the current case.  In the current case, the simple truth is: It is easier to believe lies and it is more beneficial to emotionally blackmail others and blame them because blacks refuse to admit the truth and take responsibility for their own people, nature, and actions.  

Most nonwhites KNOW that THEIR OWN PEOPLE (or other nonwhites) are the problem.  A percentage are such low intelligence that they believe ghost stories about the white boogey man who is the one guilty of all the bad that happens; but the majority do NOT believe that lie.  However, the majority feel the need to immorally profess faith in that lie—because they are stuck living among their own people and if they honestly called out the ones in their own neighborhoods that are thieves, vandals, thugs, rapists, and murderers then their own life expectancy would be in severe jeopardy.  After a few generation, the children (who never really “grow up” or “mature”, they just age) believe all the lies that they hear, because they have heard them over and over again and in their small minds, that is “reality”.  Reality then is forced to conform with their uninformed mental notion of what they think that reality is, and therefore, all of reality is distorted and skewed and they operate in utter fantasy.  It is a profound psychosis and the mind confabulates even the most ludicrous of absurdities to explain reality in harmony with their false notions.  No amount of reality (or psychotropic drugs or “education” or “reprogramming”) will ever change it.  It is established in their formative years, and like a duckling, what they first imprint upon is reality for life.  After that, it is a knee-jerk reaction.  Like someone who was once viciously bit by a dog, or ate a piece of bad chicken and got violently ill, terribly burned himself on a stove, or was severely shocked by electricity, etc., often such things the mind and emotions can never get over—they become PERMANENT PHOBIAS (scary ghosts).  

The ONLY solution, from our perspective, is total segregation (as God commanded); which should not be considered a “dirty word”, since more and more uppity blacks nowadays at universities—about 110 of which in the U.S. are all black (though the majority of them were all built by the whites and most were originally all white)—claim that they need special “non-white getaways” with only other blacks, just to “deal with life” and get away from whites.  Well, don’t make it a week-end retreat—make it permanent!  Blacks segregate themselves for the most part anyway.  

The REAL PROBLEM is: A small percentage of blacks want to get away from their own people and be around whites, but are too immoral or too scared to tell the real reason that they want to be “integrated” as a matter of “rights”—YEAH, the right to get away from your own people and force yourselves on another race.  But that is not your right.  The first half is (good luck with that); not the second (and, how dare you!).  However, to the socialist antichrists, the solution is the mongrelizing of the white man out of existence.  Most blacks, who believe ghost stories, even believe the absurdity that whites are guilty of all the bad that has ever happened in the world and if it were not for whites the whole world would live in peace and harmony!  That is no joke.  That is no exaggeration.  You can find that sentiment at nearly any integrated, liberal gathering, especially at U.S. universities, where the mingled masses (and even the majority of whites) have been brainwashed by socialist professors for the past 80 years.  

If reality does not fit the socialist propagandic paradigm, even the whites, Pavlovized, knee-jerked with “white guilt”, take the blame for everything.  If a white is robbed, beat up, raped, etc., even a liberal white who “loves all and sees everyone as the same” and who has even labored for black rights, etc., the white victim will rarely change his perverse view to conform to reality.  The brainwashed white will never be able to see that he or she was robbed, terrorized, assaulted, raped, etc., “because that is the blacks’ nature”.  The brainwashed whites will simply believe, “Well, it is not their fault, I am paying for the sins of my ancestors for all those years of slavery and segregation and exploitation,” etc.  Slavery and exploitation are myths, as they imagine them; and segregation is something that the majority of blacks claim that they want (to be away from the white man; and they share no love for Latinos or Orientals either), so how can segregation be drudged back up as a “wrong” committed against blacks?  Anti-intellectually, it is like the “n-word”; it’s perfectly fine for blacks to use; but the unpardonable sin for whites.  The key word is “Anti-intellectual” (and again, that is due to diminished capacity compounded by psychosis and years of propagandizing).

Understand: If everyone went around wearing bed-sheets, quilts, or pup-tents, with tiny slits for the eyes so they could barely see, and they went around blowing up cars and buildings, don’t you think that anyone wearing a bed-sheet or pup-tent would be considered suspicious?  It is not hatred against bed-sheets or pup-tents.  It is not a conspiracy against bed-sheets and pup-tents.  It is reality and common sense.  

If blacks don’t like being “profiled” (which legally ended decades ago due to government mandated neurosis and psychosis, manifested as political correctness, dishonesty, and denial of reality) then instead of blaming the ones (white cops) whom socialist, agitating charlatans claim are profiling blacks, why don’t the honorable blacks do something about all their black kinfolk who are having illegitimate babies, living on welfare, dropping out of school, hanging out on the street corner playing B-ball, joining gangs, doing drugs, and stealing, raping, vandalizing, assaulting, and committing other crimes?  If reality is not a pretty picture a moral, intelligent person will not “blame reality”, but live in such a manner that a new reality is created.  Instead of whining and going ape about public recognition of your bad reputation—why don’t you change your reputation?  Be responsible.  Do something about YOUR people.  Listen to black pastor James Manning.  Learn something.  Enter reality.  Stop blaming the victim and stop blaming the police for shooting the criminals.  Unless the police are truly guilty of going out and shooting some poor black boy just because he is black, who was just sitting there peacefully reading the Bible and the cops ran up and just shot him—then stop making up and believing fairy tales.  

There are dirty cops and most all police SWAT teams are no better than Stalin’s KGB / NKVD or a Navy Seal Commando unit: They have been trained to obey orders and to kill.  No questions asked.  The morality of the orders given to them is not an issue.  They are a machine and obey orders (and yet the German nation has been defamed and demonized for doing what they were ordered—and 95% of what they were ordered is not even true).  Cops and SWAT teams and other police agencies who follow such orders and violate the rights of innocent people are indeed guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.  Cops are not the law.  Judges are not the law.  Politicians are not the law.  The law is the U.S. Constitution that is to be interpreted according to the Common Law and according to the intention of the Founders at the time that they wrote it.  Any law or ordinance or police code or judge’s mandate that contradicts the Constitution is INVALID and of NO authority.

But police abuse and white cops seeking out innocent blacks to murder is not the norm in black neighborhoods.  In the vast majority of incidents the police are pursuing black criminals during the commission of a crime.  Even if called to an apartment for a report of domestic violence or disturbance, the common response is for both the man and women to continue to go ape on each other and even the police who are present.  It is not that the black man and woman were quietly having a Bible study and white cops kicked the door down while they were getting ready to sing a hymn or pray.

Stop blaming the solution (no matter how imperfect it is) and blame the actual problem.  If you are not thinking clearly about what the problem is, look in the mirror.  Ask yourself some pointed, unpleasant, but simple questions: How many of your family members have rap sheets? How many have been in prison?  Were they in prison for smuggling Bibles or preaching about Jesus?  How many have committed crimes for which they were never caught or punished?  Have any of them NEVER been in a fight?  How many of them DON’T casually use the “f-word”, or “damn”, “shit”, “hell”, “bitch”, “ho,” or “dog” in their normal conversation?  How many have NEVER done drugs?  How many DON’T smoke or DON’T get drunk?  How many of them are NOT whores or whoremongers?  How many of them DON’T “sleep around”...?  How many of them have NOT sired illegitimate children?  How many of the fathers DON’T abandon the women whom they impregnate?  Ask yourself those same questions about yourself too.  Ask yourself the same question about your black neighbors and black friends and black work associates and black acquaintences.  

So why don’t you realize that it is those blacks that are guilty of the above, who constitute the vast majority of the black population, who are the ones who give a bad name to the minority of blacks who are not guilty of such?  How is the white man the one to blame?]

Like children, if some prominent person (such as modern snake-oil salesmen*) tells them a story, they believe that it is true (especially if it is to their benefit) and they will maintain belief in that ghost story religiously—especially if they are told other emotionally charged myths, such as: “your rights” are “being violated” and “it’s not fair” and “you need to do something about it”, “they are killing black people every day”, “it is ‘Open Season’ on blacks”, “don’t let them kill you”, and “you are persecuted”, “you could be living the ‘good life’ right now, but they stole all your money; they owe you money; it’s just not right”.  Of course, they simply ignore the 700+ murders in Chi-congo every year, the vast majority committed by blacks; and the fact that the vast majority of black deaths are due to other blacks or nonwhites.  Yet the white man is blamed for it all.

[* —modernly called “politicians”, “humanitarians”, “psychologists”, “sociologists”, “educators”, “journalists”, or other “experts”, most all of whom are leftists, liberals, and God-haters (“professional” or amateur), as well as “political / social activists” and other mindless, immoral troublemakers.]

The utter hypocrisy of it all was clearly evident in the cases involving Trayvon Martin & Michael Brown (to name just a few) and other black thugs.  Before the media circus and agitator hoopla, the black masses did not know about and did not care about Martin or Brown; and in all likelihood, Martin and Brown would probably have been killed by one of their own black criminal populace, had Martin or Brown not been in the middle of the commission of a crime and been shot by a cop or neighborhood watch patrol.  The fact is, Martin and Brown had probably already commited a long list of crimes against their own black people.  As far as I can remember, both had rap sheets.  And anyone who has done any study at all knows that criminals are only caught and prosecuted for a tiny fraction of all the crimes they commit.  Just because they were not convicted does not mean they were not guilty.  But, it looks much better for blacks in general to turn thugs into martyrs and heroes and saints.

Martin was shot by a (Peruvian Latino, whose father sadly was allegedly white) neighborhood watch patrol Zimmerman (falsely referred to as “white” in the media).  Zimmerman identifies as “Hispanic” in official papers.

Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense because Martin was smashing Zimmerman’s head into the concrete sidewalk curb for having approached him and simply asked him what he was doing in the neighborhood. 

Brown was shot by a white cop—who shot Brown in self-defense.  The white cop was pursuing Brown for having stolen a box of cigars from a convenient store, and having intimidated / assaulted the tiny nonwhite clerk or store owner who tried to stop him from leaving the store with the cigars (and stealing tobacco, like stealing alcohol, bumps the theft up to a federal crime, not mere shoplifting). 

Also, though the size of a pro-football linebacker, Brown was depicted in the media as an innocent youth, and displayed his high school photo of him (sort of) smiling (just like they did for Martin), was also dishonestly used to contaminate the minds of the entire public conception of Brown.  But did the media show the photos of either making gang hand gestures, giving the middle finger, or with a handgun, or smoking pot?, or did they list their rap sheets?

The much-larger (300-lb.) black “teen-ager” Brown was viciously attacking the policeman, reached into the officer’s police car and was pummeling his face into hamburger and trying to wrestle the cop’s gun from him.

To hold these black criminals up as “victims” (or even “heroes”) is grotesque and mentally deranged.  Of course, if I recall, Jesse Jackson, Mel Sharpton, Obama, and every other socialist agitator jumped on the bandwagon, in complete denial of the facts, and muddied the waters (creating more “ghost stories” for the black populace to believe and circulate, which superstitions would prevent them from ever believing the truth once it was reported).  

It is amazing that the black masses ignore all facts and evidence and believe only the sensational ghost stories they are told by their witch-doctors.  Then to protest the “injustice” they go out and set their own town on fire (and why not, if the stupid white people will just pay to rebuild it and they will then have a nice new town?)—burning and looting from businesses owned even by blacks, their own people whom they claim to care so much about (even as they do in every such event, from Miami to Philadelphia, Baltimore to L.A.).

It is no wonder that they, and other populations mixed with their blood (South Africa, Spain, Portugal) are so easily controlled by the communist agitators and organizations (or Islam) and eventually vote the communists into power (which is what “democracy” is: pre-communism, transitional-communism).

They have been taught the ghost story so often, in so many ways, for so many decades, that is an ingrained belief that can never be extinguished from their psyche: “The white man is to blame.... blacks are victims.”

The facts of any case have no bearing upon anything in their minds.  It is the emotions on autopilot, like a San Francisco trolley without a driver (imagine that scene from one of those movies with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte, I think, “48 Hours”...? in which there is a fight going on against someone driving a metro bus down some steep or congested highway such as found in San Francisco).  Runnaway-Trolly Syndrome; full-tilt emotions, throttle jammed, brakes cut... the mantra:



THAT is all that is bouncing around inside their heads and fueling the furnace of their emotions and their uncontrollable urges (which, like someone with low blood sugar, they continually feed whenever the feeling comes over them), including rage.

Fact: 95% of blacks are killed daily by other blacks.

“Don’t matter... [somehows] da white man iz ta blame. White man owe us.   Slabery, slabery, slabery.  We deserb fitty gablillion dollarz.”

But black slavery ended 150 years ago in the U.S. (and part of the reason that the U.S. is $20 trillion in debt is because of all the money from welfare programs that blacks have received—which has not bettered them a bit).  Black chieftains sold their own black people into slavery to the Jewish slave traders; whites did not traipse through the jungle and kidnap them.  Blacks owned other blacks as slaves for 4,000 years.  Whites only bought 1% of the world black slave market and less than 3% of U.S. Southerners owned slaves.  The majority of white people in the U.S. today were not even in the U.S. at the time of slavery.  White people treated their slaves better than blacks treat each other today (and blacks who owned slaves would torture and murder their own people at whim, at the drop of a hat; for fun; whites rarely killed slaves and rarely whipped slaves unless they had severely stepped over the line, like raping a white girl).  Whites were only involved in the slave trade for a few centuries.  Jews, blacks, Turks, and Arabs sold black slaves for thousands of years.  The wonderful tear-jerker propaganda movie “Amistad” fails to inform the viewer that after the black “hero” won his freedom—he went back to Africa and became a slave trader himself, selling his own black brothers and sisters into slavery!  “Dat’s a fact, Jack!” (also a line, if I remember, from the movie “48 Hours”).

But blacks want to move out of black neighborhoods into white neighborhoods to get away from their own black people—and then they claim that they don’t feel safe or welcome in white society and everyone is too white!  Then, the neighborhood, inevitably, is destroyed as crimes go up and squalor (and rats and roaches) abound.

But over half of the cops called “white” who are accused of killing black criminals in the line of duty are not actually white, but mixed blooded.

But too many black men have half a dozen to a dozen illegitimate children whom they never help to raise and they are often ignored by welfare-paycheck drawing mothers many of whom are promiscuous brawlers and drug addicts and thieves and are no-better role models than the absentee fathers, and thus many blacks are raised on the streets by gangs, don’t pay attention in school so that they can learn and better themselves, they hang out with other criminally inclined blacks, do drugs, and commit crime against other blacks (as well as against people other races).

[Broken record telling the same ghost story; facts are irrelevant.  Reality is what they want it to be, to keep milking the system preying on whites brainwashed with white guilt.]

By the way they tell it, the world would think that white people in every neighborhood in the U.S. form a posse, saddle up wearing KKK hoods, and ride their horses into black churches where the blacks are worshipping Jesus, lasso them, and drag them out, down the stairs, and go lynch them or nail them to a burning cross... or that in all white communities in the U.S. whites hunt down the blacks and kill them while the blacks are in the middle of doing good deeds, like picking up trash, helping old ladies cross the street, reading books to blind shut-ins, knitting sweaters for those less fortunate than themselves, and shovelling snow off the sidewalks of their elderly neighbors, all out of the goodness of their hearts.

They believe every form of propaganda that they hear or see—all of which is a hate crime and genocide against white people.  The agitators, “educators”, media, entertainment, “churches” and government agencies and spokespersons are guilty of this hate crime, genocide, and treason / violation of their oath of office to DEFEND the U.S. Constitution—NOT defend the imagined rights of invasive criminal, welfare-drawing aliens.

The classic example of ghost stories was circulated in an email a year ago (though I do not know if it was actually true, it is certainly believable).  Someone overheard a young black girl walking with her mother through Wal-mart.  Apparently, there had been a “re-make” of the classic children’s movie “Annie” and they re-cast Annie as a young black girl.  This young black girl, having watched the new black version of Annie, saw a DVD of an original version of Annie for sale on a rack and with outrage told her mom, “Look mom!  They’ve made Annie white!  It’s just not fair!  They have no right to do that!”  And so again, reality is skirted in favor of a ghost story.

[Another email that has been circulating for a decade or so, is titled, “What is it Like to Teach Black Students?” by Christopher Jackson - I will provide this at the end of this Rumination.  For now, some personal experiences.]

Back around 1983, for one semester, I attended Temple U. in central Philly (which even then was a HORRIBLE section that has spread around it, Spring Garden and Uptown, if I remember correctly).  The drive to school was not pleasant (through black areas, over the quaint old cobblestone past destroyed neighborhoods of Germantown) with blacks running everywhere.  One time a little black boy ran out in front of me, I slammed the brakes and literally skidded around him (cobblestone is not porous and is slick) and he kept running across the street as if nothing happened.  Had I hit him, I would never have been found in one piece.  Another time, at an auxiliary Temple U. building, I was walking through the parking lot to my car and passed a car in which a 5- or 6-year-old black boy was sitting waiting for his mom I guess, and as I passed he said, “yoo blud-sukka”.  I ignored it, of course, but where did one so young get the idea that white people, or I, sucked his / blacks’ blood?  In reality, it is the other way around: through crime, as well as “legal” theft, in living multi-generationally off welfare while having half a dozen to a dozen illegitimate children—all to be raised with food, housing, utilities (cell phones), education, and healthcare all paid for by the white taxpayers.

One morning I got to school early, which I liked to do, and relaxed in the back of the large student lounge for a little shut eye... WHICH WAS IMPOSSIBLE if blacks are anywhere within megaphone distance.  Inside buildings or outside, it is like a herd of bellowing water buffalo. ... talking as loud as possible, all at the same time... with no sense of decorum or other people’s rights not to have to hear them disrupt their lives.  I heard one time (and it was hard to keep a straight face), one came in one side of the building and saw someone she knew on the other side of the lounge, a good 100 feet away, and shouted out (now, these are people who have been admitted to COLLEGE)... “HAY BOY HOW YOO AM...?”  Drugs certainly do not help the already over-loaded minority of brain cells that are having to do the work of a whole brain to keep an entire (fuel inefficient, non-conserving) body functioning.  It is a crime in and of itself that they are admitted to college, let alone that the taxpayers pay for it (and there are, I believe 118 all back colleges—most of which were originally all white colleges, and now there are ZERO all white colleges, because that would be "racism"—the majority of those attending the all black colleges have tuition room and board paid for by tax payers, the majority not being able to pass the entrance exams, and the majority being handed DEGREES (to then get jobs in the real world) that the recipient probably cannot even read.

{Of course the blacks are saying it was “racist” for the police to post the video (censored)... but oddly don’t say a thing about the blacks who made the video and then posted it or emailed it around.  The mother claims the others put him up to it without her knowledge.  “All kids swear” she said.  Really?  And even if that is true (which it is NOT—I NEVER did; neither of my brothers EVER did, not at ANY age growing up)—how did a 2-year old learn such words to use them so naturally—and how did my father manage to raise 6 sons, none of whom used profanity and none of whom were ever arrested?  Blacks also object to the police and reporters using the word “thug”.  Clearly, this is a good Christian family that is the victim of white racism.  

But the internet censors have removed all original uncensored youtubes of this 2-year old cursing, and all links to them are dead.  Odd, if the black friends and family thought it was so cute and funny to film and upload to the internet, why is it now considered “racist” for anyone else to link to it for people to see life in the jungle...?  The only reason, it would seem, that the mother objects to the video (and this is just a guess, I could be wrong) is that the rest of the world (white people) did not think it was cute and funny and social services threatened to take her children (read “additional welfare checks”) away from her and possibly bring charges.  If she claims that she never knew about it until it became an international incident, is that really believable...?  That such a video was all over the internet and none of her family or friends ever told her about it until the police or social workers contacted her?  Would not those who had filmed and posted it have told all their own friends and family about it so they could all have a good laugh?  So how could the mother herself not have known it?

The liberals claim that the toddler in this video was “coaxed into it” and the mama say he don’t talk lyk dat... he a good boi.  NO, that is not a parrot repeating what it heard.  It is a thug.  The gang name “deuce nine” has nothing to do with playing a game of cards.  The word deuce means “two” (from the French deux) — hence the reason the rappers and thugsters hold up two fingers sideways (cause they can’t do anything normally).  

However, the word deuce had also for centuries in English literature (that is, LONG before baboonics / ebonics came to corrupt it) been used as a slang word for “the Devil” or even less commonly “bad luck”; such as: “What the Deuce?” or “Let the Deuce have it!” or “To the Deuce with you!” (which was a nice way of saying “Go to Hell”).  Such “minced oaths” themselves were testimony to the influence of Christian society.  “Heck” was used instead of “Hell!”; “darn” or “drat” instead of “damn!”; “geez” instead of “Jesus!”; “golly” instead of “God!”; “good grief” instead of “good God!” when cursing or expressing disgust or exasperation.

Over 3 decades ago when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and worked in West Palm Beach (which also took me into various unsavory neighborhoods, like Riviera Beach, many sections of which were mostly black) I one time stopped at a Convenient Store for a drink.  The sign on the door said, “No more than 3 youth under the age of 18 allowed in the store at the same time”.  Of course, what the sign MEANT was, “No more than 3 BLACK youth...”  But they could not write that on the sign.  So all of society is supposed to pretend to be stupid.

[Of course, that sign will only help with the problem, if: 1. the black youth can read, 2. the black youth can count, and 3. the black youth don’t obey the sign.  If they black youth ignore the sign the store manager or cashier may call the police.  By the time the police get there the offender would be gone; but even if not, all the police will do is ask the offender to leave.  As far as I know it was not a law that was passed that made it a crime for more than 3 youth to be in the store at the same time.  And of course, the cashier or manager or store owner has to be very careful on how far he tries to enforce such a “store regulation” (of dubious legal merit) or he may be called by the police in the middle of the night to inform him that his store is burning down; or his house may be set on fire; or he may be assaulted or murdered.  This is the ultimate result when ignoring the actual problem is the modus operandi of a perverse society controlled fearfully by the voodoo of political correctism and ghost stories.]

While getting my drink at that very convenient store, a black male youth in the store grabbed a single beer bottle and on the way to the cash register casually opened it.  I guess he thought that if he opened it they would tell him that he would have to buy it... but he didn't think it through (because if the cashier sells beer to a minor for any reason he / she can go to jail and the store manager / owner could be arrested, fined, lose their beer license, etc.).  The young black woman at the cash register spoke harshly to him, something like, “Beer cannot be drank on the premises don’t you drink that.  You are not even 18, let me see your ID.”  The black offender then went off in histrionics like a rooster once the sun has risen and started head bobbing and crowing, “I’m gonna get mah LAWYER on you!”  She kept cackling amidst his crowing, “I don’t care, put that down on the counter, don’t drink it, don’t leave the store with it or I call the police”.  That is pretty much what life is like among them 24/7 — and that was over 30 years ago, before they were as “empowered” as they are today, and before whites snivellingly cowered as readily as they do today.  In that neighborhood blacks would actually run out in front of your car to try and get you to stop.  I never stopped or slowed down, so they had to jump out of the way.  I later learned from others that they run out to try to sell you drugs.  Regardless, I was not in the market for drugs or fried chicken or sex or anything that they might be selling; and there was no guarantee it was merely intended to be a sales pitch and not a robbery and car jacking.  I also remember in 9th grade (about 1977 in North Miami) when I took Driver’s Ed(ucation).  The text book for the class gave the instructions for starting the car: “1. get in the car. 2. LOCK THE DOOR.  3. put seatbelt on.  4. start engine.”  [Full caps mine, for emphasis.]  Even in those days Cubans would gently bump into your car at a traffic light or stop sign, and when you got out to check the damage they would mug you in broad daylight.  I can only imagine what it is like now.

[Sadly, many of God’s people still “learn the way of the heathen”, in more ways than one: merely being around them, many of our people think, talk, and act like them (and that is the purpose of integration and the dumbing down and demoralization of the schools and society and even churches).  A couple years ago a young 20-some year old blonde haired white came into the post office here in this small town here in the mountains of Appalachia.  By his appearance I knew that he was not a local; by his accent I knew that he was South African; the local trucking company, I have heard, employs a number of white South Africans (not all of whom are blond), though I had never met any.  Regardless, he too had this same mentality and the testosterone of a rooster (and a little less gorilla chest thumping).  He was waiting, it seems (the whole post office learned) on a final pay-check from his previous employer in a different state (I would guess, Florida).  He was fuming and gesticulating and making a scene... “I shoulda had that check by now... what are they trying to pull... I’m gonna contact my lawyer!”  Once he took a breath, I turned and suggested, “Maybe they sent it to South Africa by mistake”.  He looked and acknowledged that I had spoken to him, but nothing really registered, his testosterone was too high to think.  The postal clerk, after he left, asked me quizzically why I said that, and I explained.  I also said that I should have said to him in Afrikaans, “Good morning, how are you?” just to see his reaction.  However, without realizing it, white South Africans have been influenced by the blacks and coloreds without even realizing it, by working, and eventually living among them.  White South Africans also use the expression “man” a lot in their conversation.  Blacks do too, though it is more theatrical in the blacks and more matter-of-fact with the whites.  However, I cannot say who learned from whom, the habit of using the word so much.

Sadly, as I have written for decades, most people in today’s society don’t mature, they simply age.  The majority of people over the age of 20 today are adolescents running around in adults’ bodies.  While testosterone will wane with age, that does not mean that maturity, poise, grace, or wisdom will rush in to fill the void in the mind and character.  Wisdom and character come by years of cultivation.  Learning the way of the heathen can only be undone by learning wisdom and character—the character of our people cultivated over a millennia through knowing and practicing the Word of God and being taught by God’s Spirit and being daily conformed more and more into the Image of Christ as we walk in the Spirit.  These things don’t happen on their own any more than a child will learn the course requirements without reading the textbook, without going to class, or without actually paying attention if he is there, (and anything that he learns, if he learns, will be useless if the teacher / school is not actually teaching truth, but propaganda and ghost stories).  My advice to such emotionally overcharged testosterone junkies: Lay off the Red Bull drinks (and drugs and tobacco); take a deep breath.  Read the Word of God and history books of our people (preferably written before 1920 or so).  Learn.  Grow.  Mature.  Don’t mere age (or rot).  Be separate.  Act with dignity.  Instead of booze and drugs and ghost stories, it would do blacks well to follow the same advice; stop thinking that white people owe you; stop stealing; stop demanding handouts; make something of yourself.  Success does not happen overnight.  It requires faithful dedication and perseverence.  Few people who were successful had success handed to them on a silver platter overnight.  It takes time to develop your mind, a trade, skills—success.  If you don’t it is no one's fault but your own.  Look in the mirror and think about what is inside, instead of admiring how dashing you think you look with all your ‘bling’.]

But, despite entire libraries (and a nearly limitless internet) full of scholarly books* full of historical information—statistics, and reality are considered by blacks to be “unimportant" because the ghost story in their minds is all that they can see or hear.

If “the white man is to blame” then let the blacks move back to Africa.  But they won’t do that.  Why?  Because then they can’t blame the white man for the ghost stories that they want to believe—things that can’t be proven because they are not real; but things which can be used, like spooking a stupid bevy of cattle into a stampede.  They won’t move back because they don’t want to live among their own people.  If they commit crimes against their own people, the judgment will be brutal.  They won’t move back because they know they will not receive the handouts that they do in white nations; and if they do have a job, they won’t be paid as well or treated as well as if in a white nation.  Yet somehow “the white man is to blame”.  You cannot have your ghost-cake and eat it too; but they think they can.  

The white man is essential because ghost stories don’t write welfare checks or look the other way when crimes are committed, out of fear of being accused of being a “racist”.  If the blacks move to Kenya or Nigeria and commit crime... who dey gonna blames it on?  Well, they will still blame it on the white man..., somehow. “—Colonialism... Colonialism made me rape dat wummun and steal dat car.”  Well, they can still make up such ghost stories while living among a 100% black population, but the other blacks aren’t going to give them any sympathy or kowtow to them, write them a check, or simply ignore their crimes.  They will just make up ghost stories of their own: “He just disappeared in the middle of the night.  We don’t know what happened to him.  The witch doctor cast a spell on him... and... poof... he disappeared.  The ghosts and goblins and the debbil hisself came and took him away.”

But the reality is, not only do the criminally inclined blacks not want to move back to Africa, knowing they will not be able to get away with their crimes as easily, but also, the less-criminally inclined blacks don’t want to become prey to an entire continent of blacks without any white police and judges and politicians to save them!  But they continue to believe the ghost stories that the white cops are bad and out to get them.  MOVE BACK TO AFRICA and have a ground-zero confrontation with REALITY.  Merely a few decades ago nearly one million lighter blacks were savagely murdered by darker blacks in Ruanda / Uganda simply because they were lighter complexioned than the dark blacks.

AND YET, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT...?  —the blacks in Africa want to move to “racist” white countries!  However, like mindless parasites, they do not think of where their next meal will come from once they parasitize the last host to the point of extinction (or even when the host population becomes the minority).  When that time has been reached, the only option is for the parasites to begin parasitizing each other.  Nonwhites who move here should not complain, not want “rights” and “empowerment” and not want to try to turn our nation into the type from which they “fled”—which is an inevitable reality in direct proportion to the number of their people and their “rights and empowerment” in white nations.  Once the white nation turns into a black nation, they are back in the same predicament.  Even black pastor James Manning (whose youtubes are all over the internet) realizes this and tells his fellow blacks to stop pushing the white man, let him run the nation, stop living immorally, and just be glad you are here and not back in Africa!

White people are to blacks what a bottle of booze is to an alcoholic (in today’s lobotomized society).  But it’s not the booze’s fault...!  It’s the alcoholic’s fault...!  It’s the fault of anyone who gives the alcoholic booze or money for booze.  It’s the fault of people who won’t prosecute the alcoholic when he commits crimes to obtain booze, if he has no money to buy booze, and nobodys wills gib hims dat booz.  WHITE PEOPLE STOP BEING THE BLACK MAN’S BOOZE!

Around the time of the Anglo-Boer War, Member of Parliament, the Irishman Sir Michael Davitt, who wrote the book, The Boer Fight For Freedom (inquire), witnessed first-hand the affair (and was disgusted with how the British behaved themselves and impressed with how the Boere behaved themselves with honor).  He resigned from Parliament in protest and wrote his book.  Davitt explained how the “oppressed” black workers whom he interviewed said that they did not even know what their grievances were until they read them in the newspapers each day... and that the unrest was caused primarily by English and German-speaking Jews who stirred the blacks up into imagining that they were oppressed.
Dutch South Africans never owned blacks as slaves... they did not hunt them down and drag them to work.  Blacks flocked to white settlements (as seagulls follow a fishing vessel) in order to steal (or commit other crimes) or get a job (and now, in the age of Welfare-Gone-Wild, they flock for a third reason, which is little different than stealing outright through burglary—to steal our whole nation, all of Christendom from us).  After having been given a plethora of welfare handouts, free rent, free food, free cell phones, free education and after having been given jobs (most of which he did not deserve or qualify for) while having most of his crimes ignored, the poor, “exploited” black—whose life is 1000x better than it would have been in any nonwhite nation, even in a nation of his own black people—and yet all of the sudden, now he claims that somehow he has been and is “oppressed”.

Stop worrying about being accused of being a “racist”—there are FAR-WORSE things that you could be accused of; things that are actually immoral; things that are actually real; things that are actually crimes; things that are actually sin (and “racism” is not a sin—God commanded it; all people are NOT the same and HE commanded separation and discrimination and complete non-involvement); things for which you will stand one Day in Judgment before God (and “racism”) WON’T be one of them!*).

What is it Like to Teach Black Students?

Until recently I taught at a predominantly black high school in a southeastern state. The mainstream press gives a hint of what conditions are like in black schools, but only a hint. Expressions journalists use like “chaotic”; or “poor learning environment”; or “lack of discipline”; do not capture what really happens. There is nothing like the day-to-day experience of teaching black children and that is what I will try to convey.

One of the most immediately striking things about my students was that they were loud. They had little conception of ordinary decorum. It was not unusual for five students to be screaming at me at once. It did no good to try to quiet them and white women were particularly inept at trying. I sat in on one woman’s class as she begged the children to pipe down. They just yelled louder so their voices would carry over hers. They seemed to have no conception of waiting for an appropriate time to say something. They would get ideas in their heads and simply had to shout them out. I might be leading a discussion on government and suddenly be interrupted: “We gotta get more Democrats! Clinton, she good!” The student may seem content with that outburst but two minutes later, he would suddenly start yelling again: “Clinton good!”

Anyone who is around young blacks will probably get a constant diet of rap music. Blacks often make up their own jingles, and it was not uncommon for 15 boys to swagger into a classroom, bouncing their shoulders and jiving back. They were yelling back and forth, rapping 15 different sets of words in the same harsh, rasping dialect. The words were almost invariably a childish form of boasting: “Who got dem shine rim, who got dem shine shoe, who got dem shine grill (gold and silver dental caps)?” The amateur rapper usually ends with a claim—in the crudest terms imaginable—that all woman-kind is sexually devoted to him. For whatever reason, my students would often groan instead of saying a particular word, as in, “She suck dat aaahhhh (think of a long grinding groan), she f* dat aaaahhhh, she lick dat aaaahhh.” So many black girls dance in the hall, in the classroom, on the chairs, next to the chairs, under the chairs, everywhere. Once I took a call on my cell phone and had to step outside of class. I was away about two minutes but when I got back, the girls had lined up at the front of the classroom and were convulsing to the delight of the boys.

Many black people, especially women, are enormously fat. Some are so fat I had to arrange special seating to accommodate their bulk. I am not saying there are no fat white students—there are—but it is a matter of numbers and attitudes. Many black girls simply do not care that they are fat. There are plenty of white anorexics, but I have never met or heard of a black anorexic. “Black women be big Mr. Jackson,” my students would explain. “Is it okay in the black community to be a little overweight?” I ask. Two obese girls in front of my desk begin to dance, “You know dem boys lak juicy fruit, Mr. Jackson.” “Juicy” is a colorful black expression for the buttocks.

Blacks, on average, are the most directly critical people I have ever met: “Dat shirt stupid. Yo’ kid a bastid. Yo’ lips big.” Unlike whites, who tread gingerly around the subject of race, they can be brutally to the point. Once I needed to send a student to the office to deliver a message. I asked for volunteers, and suddenly you would think my classroom was a bastion of civic engagement. Thirty dark hands shot into the air. My students loved to leave the classroom and slack off, even if just for a few minutes, away from the eye of white authority. I picked a light-skinned boy to deliver the message. One very black student was indignant: “You pick da half-breed.” And immediately other blacks take up the cry, and half a dozen mouths are screaming, “He half-breed.”

For decades, the country has been lamenting the poor academic performance of blacks and there is much to lament. There is no question, however, that many blacks come to school with a serious handicap that is not their fault. At home they have learned a dialect that is almost a different language. Blacks not only mispronounce words; their grammar is often wrong. When a black wants to ask, “Where is the bathroom?” he may actually say “Whar da badroom be?” Grammatically, this is the equivalent of “Where the bathroom is?” And this is the way they speak in high school. Students write the way they speak, so this is the language that shows up in written assignments.

It is true that some whites face a similar handicap. They speak with what I would call a “country” accent that is hard to reproduce but results in sentences such as “I’m gonna gemme a Coke.” Some of these country whites had to learn correct pronunciation and usage. The difference is that most whites overcome this handicap and learn to speak correctly; many blacks do not.

Most of the blacks I taught simply had no interest in academic subjects. I taught history, and students would often say they didn’t want to do an assignment or they didn’t like history because it was all about white people. Of course, this was “diversity”; history, in which every cowboy’s black cook got a special page on how he contributed to winning the West, but black children still found it inadequate. So I would throw up my hands and assign them a project on a real, historical black person. My favorite was Marcus Garvey. They had never heard of him, and I would tell them to research him, but they never did. They didn’t care and they didn’t want to do any work.

Anyone who teaches blacks soon learns that they have a completely different view of government from whites. Once I decided to fill 25 minutes by having students write about one thing the government should do to improve America. I gave this question to three classes totaling about 100 students, approximately 80 of whom were black. My white students came back with generally “conservative” ideas. “We need to cut off people who don’t work,” was the most common suggestion. Nearly every black gave a variation on the theme of “We need more government services.”

My black students had only the vaguest notion of who pays for government services. For them, it was like a magical piggy bank that never goes empty. One black girl was exhorting the class on the need for more social services and I kept trying to explain that people, real live people, are taxed for the money to pay for those services. “Yeah, it come from whites,” she finally said. “They stingy anyway.”* “Many black people make over $50,000 dollars a year and you would also be taking away from your own people,” I said. She had an answer to that: “Dey half breed.” The class agreed. I let the subject drop.

[* I cannot find where I read it, but I also heard a similar story, such as this teacher tells, in which a black girl said to the white teacher, “You whites have it easy.  Whenever you need money you just write a check”.  Note mine.  R.A.B.]

Many black girls are perfectly happy to be welfare queens. On career day, one girl explained to the class that she was going to have lots of children and get fat checks from the government. No one in the class seemed to have any objection to this career choice.

Surprising attitudes can come out in class discussion. We were talking about the crimes committed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and I brought up the rape of a young girl in the bathroom of the Superdome. A majority of my students believed this was a horrible crime but a few took it lightly. One black boy spoke up without raising his hand: “Dat no big deal. They thought they is gonna die so they figured they have some fun. Dey jus’ wanna have a fun time; you know what I’m sayin’?” A few black heads nodded in agreement.

My department head once asked all the teachers to get a response from all students to the following question: “Do you think it is okay to break the law if it will benefit you greatly?” By then, I had been teaching for a while and was not surprised by answers that left a young, liberal, white woman colleague aghast. “Yeah” was the favorite answer. As one student explained, “Get dat green.” There is a level of conformity among blacks that whites would find hard to believe. They like one kind of music: rap. They will vote for one political party: Democrat. They dance one way, speak one way, are loud the same way, and fail their exams in the same way. Of course, there are exceptions but they are rare. Whites are different. Some like country music, others heavy metal, some prefer pop, and still others, God forbid, enjoy rap music. They have different associations, groups, almost ideologies. There are jocks, nerds, preppies, and hunters. Blacks are all—well—black, and they are quick to let other blacks know when they deviate from the norm.

One might object that there are important group differences among blacks that a white man simply cannot detect. I have done my best to find them, but so far as I can tell, they dress the same, talk the same, think the same. Certainly, they form rival groups, but the groups are not different in any discernible way. There simply are no groups of blacks that are as distinctly different from each other as white “nerds,” “hunters,” or “Goths,”* for example.

[* The “Goth” that he refers to has nothing to do with the ancient Nordic tribes; even as modern vandals have nothing to do with the Gothic tribe of that name.  Goth refers to a style of clothing, makeup, and hair styles that are very dark and ghoulish, death-like.  Note mine.  R.A.B.]

How the World looks to Blacks

One point on which all blacks agree is that everything is “racis’.” This is one message of liberalism they have absorbed completely. Did you do your homework? “Na, homework racis’.” Why did you get an “F” on the test? “Test racis’.” I was trying to teach a unit on British philosophers and the first thing the students noticed about Bentham, Hobbes, and Locke was “Dey all white! Where da black philosophers’?” I tried to explain there were no blacks in eighteenth century Britain. You can probably guess what they said to that: “Dat racis’!” One student accused me of deliberately failing him on a test because I didn’t like black people. “Do you think I really hate black people?” “Yeah.” “Have I done anything to make you feel this way? How do you know?” “You just do.” “Why do you say that?” He just smirked, looked out the window, and sucked air through his teeth. Perhaps this was a regional thing, but the blacks often sucked air through their teeth as a wordless expression of disdain or hostility.

My students were sometimes unable to see the world except through the lens of their own blackness. I had a class that was host to a German exchange student. One day he put on a Power Point presentation with famous German landmarks as well as his school and family. From time to time during the presentation, blacks would scream, “Where da black folk?!” The exasperated German tried several times to explain that there were no black people where he lived in Germany. The students did not believe him. I told them Germany is in Europe, where white people are from, and Africa is where black people are from. They insisted that the German student was racist and deliberately refused to associate with blacks.

Blacks are keenly interested in their own racial characteristics. I have learned, for example, that some blacks have “good hair.” Good hair is black parlance for black-white hybrid hair. Apparently, it is less kinky, easier to style, and considered more attractive. Blacks are also proud of light skin. Imagine two black students shouting insults across the room. One is dark but slim; the other light and obese. The dark one begins the exchange: “You fat, Ridario!” Ridario smiles, doesn’t deign to look at his detractor, shakes his head like a wobbling top, and says, “You wish you light skinned.” They could go on like this, repeating the same insults over and over.

My black students had nothing but contempt for Hispanic immigrants. They would vent their feelings so crudely that our department strongly advised us never to talk about immigration in class in case the principal or some outsider might overhear. Whites were “racis’,” of course, but they thought of us at least as Americans. Not the Mexicans. Blacks have a certain, not necessarily hostile understanding of white people. They know how whites act, and it is clear they believe whites are smart and are good at organizing things. At the same time, they probably suspect whites are just putting on an act when they talk about equality, as if it is all a sham that makes it easier for whites to control blacks. Blacks want a bigger piece of the American pie. I’m convinced that if it were up to them they would give whites a considerably smaller piece than whites get now, but they would give us something. They wouldn’t give Mexicans anything.

What about black boys and white girls? No one is supposed to notice this or talk about it but it is glaringly obvious: Black boys are obsessed with white girls. I’ve witnessed the following drama countless times. A black boy saunters up to a white girl. The cocky black dances around her, not really in a menacing way. It’s more a shuffle than a threat. As he bobs and shuffles he asks, “When you gonna go wit’ me?” There are two kinds of reply. The more confident white girl gets annoyed, looks away from the black and shouts, “I don’t wanna go out with you!” The more demure girl will look at her feet and mumble a polite excuse but ultimately say no. There is only one response from the black boy: “You racis’.” Many girls—all too many—actually feel guilty because they do not want to date blacks. Most white girls at my school stayed away from blacks, but a few, particularly the ones who were addicted to drugs, fell in with them.

There is something else that is striking about blacks. They seem to have no sense of romance, of falling in love. What brings men and women together is sex, pure and simple, and there is a crude openness about this. There are many degenerate whites, of course, but some of my white students were capable of real devotion and tenderness, emotions that seemed absent from blacks—especially the boys.

Black schools are violent and the few whites who are too poor to escape are caught in the storm. The violence is astonishing, not so much that it happens, but the atmosphere in which it happens. Blacks can be smiling, seemingly perfectly content with what they are doing, having a good time, and then, suddenly start fighting. It’s uncanny. Not long ago, I was walking through the halls and a group of black boys were walking in front of me. All of a sudden they started fighting with another group in the hallway.

Blacks are extraordinarily quick to take offense. Once I accidentally scuffed a black boy’s white sneaker with my shoe. He immediately rubbed his body up against mine and threatened to attack me. I stepped outside the class and had a security guard escort the student to the office. It was unusual for students to threaten teachers physically this way, but among themselves, they were quick to fight for similar reasons.

The real victims are the unfortunate whites caught in this. They are always in danger and their educations suffer. White weaklings are particularly susceptible, but mostly to petty violence. They may be slapped or get a couple of kicks when they are trying to open a bottom locker. Typically, blacks save the hard, serious violence for each other.

There was a lot of promiscuous sex among my students and this led to violence. Black girls were constantly fighting over black boys. It was not uncommon to see two girls literally ripping each other’s hair out with a police officer in the middle trying to break up the fight. The black boy they were fighting over would be standing by with a smile, enjoying the show he had created. For reasons I cannot explain, boys seldom fought over girls.

Pregnancy was common among the blacks, though many black girls were so fat I could not tell the difference. I don’t know how many girls got abortions, but when they had the baby they usually stayed in school and had their own parents look after the child. The school did not offer daycare.

Aside from the police officers constantly on campus - security guards are everywhere in black schools — we had one on every hall. They also sat in on unruly classes and escorted students to the office. They were unarmed but worked closely with the three city police officers who were constantly on duty.

There was a lot of drug-dealing at my school. This was a way to make a fair amount of money but it also gave boys power over girls who wanted drugs. An addicted girl—black or white—became the plaything of anyone who could get her drugs. One of my students was a notorious drug dealer. Everyone knew it. He was 19 years old and in eleventh grade. Once he got a score of three out of 100 on a test. He had been locked up four times since he was 13. One day, I asked him, “Why do you come to school?” He wouldn’t answer. He just looked out the window, smiled, and sucked air through his teeth. His friend Yidarius ventured an explanation: “He get dat green and get dem females.” “What is the green?” I asked. “Money or dope?” “Both,” said Yidarius with a smile. A very fat student interrupted from across the room: “We get dat lunch,” Mr. Jackson. “We gotta get dat lunch and brickfuss.” He means the free breakfast and lunch poor students get every day. “Niqqa, we know’d you be lovin’ brickfuss!” shouts another student. Some readers may believe that I have drawn a cruel caricature of black students. After all, according to official figures some 85 percent of them graduate. It would be instructive to know how many of those scraped by with barely a C- record. They go from grade to grade and they finally get their diplomas because there is so much pressure on teachers to push them through. It saves money to move them along, the school looks good and the teachers look good. Many of these children should have been failed but the system would crack under their weight if they were all held back.

How did my experiences make me feel about blacks? Ultimately, I lost sympathy for them. In so many ways they seem to make their own beds. There they were in an integrationist’s fantasy—in the same classroom with white students, eating the same lunch, using the same bathrooms, listening to the same teachers—and yet the blacks fail while the whites pass.

One tragic outcome among whites who have been teaching for too long is that it can engender something close to hatred. One teacher I knew gave up fast food—not for health reasons but because where he lived most fast-food workers were black. He had enough of blacks on the job. This was an extreme example but years of frustration can take their toll. Many of my white colleagues with any experience were well on their way to that state of mind.

There is an unutterable secret among teachers: Almost all realize that blacks do not respond to traditional white instruction. Does that put the lie to environmentalism? Not at all. It is what brings about endless, pointless innovation that is supposed to bring blacks up to the white level. The solution is more diversity—or put more generally, the solution is change. Change is an almost holy word in education, and you can fail a million times as long as you keep changing. That is why liberals keep revamping the curriculum and the way it is taught. For example, teachers are told that blacks need hands-on instruction and more group work. Teachers are told that blacks are more vocal and do not learn through reading and lectures. The implication is that they have certain traits that lend themselves to a different kind of teaching.

Whites have learned a certain way for centuries but it just doesn’t work with blacks. Of course, this implies racial differences but if pressed, most liberal teachers would say different racial learning styles come from some indefinable cultural characteristic unique to blacks. Therefore, schools must change, America must change. But into what? How do you turn quantum physics into hands-on instruction or group work? No one knows, but we must keep changing until we find something that works.

Public school has certainly changed since anyone reading this was a student. I have a friend who teaches elementary school and she tells me that every week the students get a new diversity lesson, shipped in fresh from some bureaucrat’s office in Washington or the state capital. She showed me the materials for one week: a large poster, about the size of a forty-two inch flat-screen television. It shows an utterly diverse group—I mean diverse: handicapped, Muslim, Jewish, effeminate, poor, rich, brown, slightly brown, yellow, etc.—sitting at a table, smiling gaily, accomplishing some undefined task. The poster comes with a sheet of questions the teacher is supposed to ask. One might be: “These kids sure look different, but they look happy. Can you tell me which one in the picture is an American?” Some eight-year-old, mired in ignorance, will point to a white child like himself. “That one.” The teacher reads from the answer, conveniently printed along with the question. “No, Billy, all these children are Americans. They are just as American as you.”

This is what happens at predominately white, middle-class, elementary schools everywhere. Elementary school teachers love All of the Colors of the Race, by award-winning children’s poet Arnold Adoff. These are some of the lines they read to the children:

“Mama is chocolate; Daddy is vanilla; Me (sic) is better; It is a new color. It is a new flavor. For love. Sometimes blackness seems too black for me, and whiteness is too sickly pale; and I wish every one were golden. Remember: long ago before people moved and migrated, and mixed and matched; there was one people: one color, one race. The colors are flowing from what was before me to what will be after. All the colors.”

Teaching as a Career

It may come as a surprise after what I have written, but my experiences have given me a deep appreciation for teaching as a career. It offers a stable, middle-class life but comes with the capacity to make real differences in the lives of children. In our modern, atomized world children often have very little communication with adults—especially, or even, with their parents—so there is potential for a real transaction between pupil and teacher, disciple and master.

A rewarding relationship can grow up between an exceptional, interested student and his teacher. I have stayed in my classroom with a group of students discussing ideas and playing chess until the janitor kicked us out. I was the old gentleman, imparting my history, culture, personal loves and triumphs, defeats and failures to young kinsman. Sometimes I fancied myself Tyrtaeus, the Spartan poet, who counseled the youth to honor and loyalty. I never had this kind intimacy with a black student, and I know of no other white teacher who did. Teaching can be fun. For a certain kind of person it is exhilarating to map out battles on chalkboards, and teach heroism. It is rewarding to challenge liberal prejudices, to leave my mark on these children, but what I aimed for with my white students I could never achieve with the blacks.

There is a kind of child whose look can melt your heart: some working-class castaway, in and out of foster homes, often abused, who is nevertheless almost an angel. Your heart melts for these children, this refuse of the modern world. Many white students possess a certain innocence; their cheeks still blush. Try as I might, I could not get the blacks to care one bit about Beethoven or Sherman’s march to the sea, or Tyrtaeus, or Oswald Spengler, or even liberals like John Rawls, or their own history. They cared about nothing I tried to teach them. When this goes on year after year it chokes the soul out of a teacher, destroys his pathos, and sends him guiltily searching for The Bell Curve on the Internet. Blacks break down the intimacy that can be achieved in the classroom, and leave you convinced that that intimacy is really a form of kinship. Without intending to, they destroy what is most beautiful—whether it be your belief in human equality, your daughter’s innocence, or even the state of the hallway.

Just last year I read on the bathroom stall the words “F Whitey.” Not two feet away, on the same stall, was a small swastika. The National Council for the Social Studies, the leading authority on social science education in the United States, urges teachers to inculcate such values as equality of opportunity, individual property rights, and a democratic form of government. Even if teachers could inculcate this milquetoast ideology into whites, liberalism is doomed because so many non-whites are not receptive to education of any kind beyond the merest basics.

It is impossible to get them to care about such abstractions as property rights or democratic citizenship. They do not see much further than the fact that you live in a big house and “we in da pro-jek.” Of course, there are a few loutish whites who will never think past their next meal and a few sensitive blacks for whom anything is possible, but no society takes on the characteristics of its exceptions.

Once I asked my students, “What do you think of the Constitution?” “It white,” one slouching black rang out. The class began to laugh. And I caught myself laughing along with them, laughing while Pompeii’s volcano simmers, while the barbarians swell around the Palatine, while the country I love, and the job I love, and the community I love become dimmer by the day.

I read a book by an expatriate Rhodesian who visited Zimbabwe not too many years ago. Traveling with a companion, she stopped at a store along the highway. A black man materialized next to her car window. “Job, boss, (I) work good, boss,” he pleaded. “You give job.” “What happened to your old job?” the expatriate white asked. The man replied in the straightforward manner of his race: “We drove out the whites. No more jobs. You give job.”

At some level, my students understand the same thing. One day I asked the bored, black faces staring back at me, “What would happen if all the white people in America disappeared tomorrow?” “We screwed,” a young, pitch-black boy screamed back. The rest of the blacks laughed.

I have had children tell me to my face as they struggled with an assignment. “I cain’t do dis,” Mr. Jackson. “I black.” The point is that human beings are not always rational. It is in the black man’s interest to have whites in Zimbabwe but he drives them out and starves. Most whites do not think black Americans could ever do anything so irrational. They see blacks on television smiling, fighting evil whites, embodying white values. But the real black is not on television, and you pull your purse closer when you see him, and you lock the car doors when he swaggers by with his pants hanging down almost to his knees.

I have been in parent-teacher conferences that broke my heart: the child pleading with his parents to take him out of school the parents convinced their child’s fears are groundless. If you love your child, show her you care—not by giving her fancy vacations or a car, but making her innocent years safe and happy. Give her the gift of a not-heavily black school.
