—Jericho - Judgment - Repentance - Obedience - Christ’s Return (Revised)
Article Category
It seems that there are parallels between modern “art” and modern “theology” (which is actually humanism). Both are either shams or mental disturbance.
It does not have to be pornographic or sadistic or macabre or outright pagan to be antichrist. It can be subtle — even a mass of confusion, which each person is to view “subjectively” and then answer the all-important questions: “How does it make YOU ‘feel’...” What thoughts (that is, imaginations, feelings attempted to be rendered as words) does it evoke in YOU...? For that is the only ‘reality’.”
Below is an example of “fine” Jewish “art” — in case you did not realize it. It’s sold in a “fin art” store, so it must be fine art, right...? I wonder who paid for this one...?
Abstract Paintings Painting - The Battle Of Jericho by David Zimmerman
----------------------
This one below is real art (I think the one above was a blind person’s first attempt at making a quilt).
I did not view this youtube, the link below, I only saw its headline:
“Joshua & the Battle of Jericho is a prophetic picture of Christ’s Second Coming” -
This is an interesting concept. Though I did not view the video, I can tell you what I do know that ties these events and persons together:
Joshua’s birth name was Oshea (Hosea), which means “Deliverer”, but Moses for some reason renamed him Joshua “Yahweh saved” — which is the same as Yehoshua, Christ Jesus’ Name in Hebrew.
[The word Jesus comes to us from the Hebrew Yehoshua by way of the Greek Ieysous [the ey represents a long Greek e, the letter eyta, the lowercase of which to us looks like an “n”, and sounds like a long “a” to us, as in the words gray / grey], via unfortunate detour from the Latin, Iesus.]
Jericho represented a form of “Firstfruits” — it was the first battle after crossing the Jordan and dedicating the nation to God (and thus there were to be no spoils, everything was to be offered by fire to God). The battle at Jericho transpired shortly after entering the Promised Land, after the people were cleansed... having crossed the Jordan river and set up a dual altar of stones as a testimony (God having stopped the Jordan river for them to all pass over on dry land, and the waters, Scripture says, piled up in heaps and flooded out the towns northward, all the way north of a town called Adam beside Zaretan;* Joshua 3:16). The Israelites thus had washed themselves and confessed their sins, having come out of 40 years of trials and tribulations in the wilderness due to the sin of lack of faith and rebellion and mutiny of their fathers.
[* As I have explained elsewhere, the Canaanites were a corrupt Hamitic-Cainite people born of incest. They stole what became known as the Land of Canaan from its original inhabitants, the Hebrews. This explains why the Canaanites (a Hamitic people) spoke Hebrew (a Semitic language). They moved in among the Hebrews and eventually bred them out of existence, or exterminated them (or both—even as they are again doing in all of Christendom). The fact there was a town named Adam is evidence of the previous Hebrew civilization. Adam (aw-dawm) is related to the Hebrew word blood (#1818 dawm), and means “to show blood in the face, flush, blush, turn rosy”. Zaretan (tsar-eth-an) means “to pierce”. The waters of the Jordan were stopped, causing a flood (the ungodly are not so but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away), and then being released to again flow and cleanse. Many parallels, of course, can be seen here, with Christ on the cross; being pierced for our transgressions, His blood flowing; the parallel of the sprinkling of blood of the sacrifice on the people, etc.]
After the Israelites entered the Promised Land and bivouacked at Gilgal (which means “a wheel”, whose root means, “to roll”) they obeyed God and circumcised the males, which their fathers had neglected to do in the wilderness. After that, God declared, “This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you”* (Joshua 5:9). Interestingly, the Hebrew Golgotha, “place of the skull” has the same root “to be round”.
[* The circumcision at the hill of the foreskins was also a “rolling off” of sorts; and of course, this has other parallels with God casting our sins away; and the angel rolling—and then actually tossing aside—the great stone that sealed Christ’s tomb. There are many other parallels. See my S.T.E.C. on John 18-21. It needs to be noted that baptism did not replace circumcision and communion did not replace Passover and Unleavened Bread—they Revised. The New Covenant did not replace the Old, but revised it. The Old Covenant was not the problem, but sinful man (Hebrews 8:8). The New Covenant “replaced” solely that element of the Old that dealt with atonement. “I am not come to destroy the Law.” “Not one jot or tittle shall pass from the Law”. God commanded the Law throughout all our generations forever... to a thousand generations (it has only been about 184 from Adam to now). Why do you believe false shepherds instead of the Word of God that abideth forever?]
Then, they obeyed God—a requirement before victory—and kept the Passover (and Days of Unleavened Bread); the morning after, at the morning sacrifice, were offered green ears of “corn”—that is, grain, most probably barley—and these were the firstfruits (Leviticus 23:5-14). These fresh, green grains of barley were offered on the altar, along with a “meat” (that is, meal, flour) offering along with frankincense (which was also offered with the showbread on the table in the tabernacle; Leviticus 24:7). Frankincense*1 was offered with ALL meal offerings, non-sin offerings (Leviticus 2:1,15; 5:11), so it was also offered at the morning sacrifice the day after Passover*2 (the Passover meal itself was and is not a sacrifice, but a memorial, even as Communion itself).
[*1 Of course, frankincense and myrrh were two herbal resins that were offered to the newborn Christ by the magi; myrrh was mixed with wine and offered to Christ on the cross (though He refused it, due to His Promise not to partake of the fruit of the vine until He drank it with His disciples in the Kingdom) and frankincense could also have been one of the spices used to embalm Christ, along with the myrrh and aloes. Again, see my, S.T.E.C. on John 18-21.
*2 The new day begins at sundown. Passover began at sundown, which ran concurrent with the First Day of Unleavened Bread. The First Day of the feast was a Sabbath (not necessarily the weekly Sabbath). So the morning sacrifice after the Sabbath (first day of the feast) ended, would not have been the morning after Passover itself, but the morning of the Second Day of Unleavened Bread.]
Then, Christ Himself (the Captain [or “General”, in our terminology] of the Lord’s Host) appeared unto Joshua, with his sword in His Hand. Soon after that the victory at Jericho was experienced.
Let us return and discuss the sinful Israelites lacking faith to take the Promised Land upon their exodus from Egypt... REALLY. How could the Israelites have doubted God’s Power after seeing all of the plagues that destroyed Egypt and walking through the Red Sea and seeing the army of Pharaoh destroyed? Then again they experienced God’s Power, having heard God’s Rumbling Voice and seeing the fire on top of the Mount when Moses was there. In fact, the people were so afraid merely at God’s Voice (they heard only noise, and thundering, nothing intelligible, but it was enough to frighten them) that they begged God not to speak to them directly any more, but to speak to Moses and he would pass the message along!
HOW ABOMINABLE. There is nothing more that I could ever ask for, and they did not want it!
This same people later rejected God as their king. Again, you reap what you sow—but so do all of your descendants. If people stopped thinking solely about themselves (the sin of “I”-dolatry, worshipping the Spanish God, “Numero Uno” — worshipping the flesh, hedonism / pleasure, sacrificing all to self to appease it and give self its every desire; the epitomy of self-aggrandizing humanism); and if instead people thought about the needs and wellbeing of ALL our people* and especially their own descendants... and put their eyes on GOD, which is where they are supposed to be, we would not be in the mess that we are in (facing overthrow and extinction).
[* Matthew 7:12; Philippians 2:4; Galatians 6:10; James 2:8. These passages refer only to our kinsmen who are living lives in obedience to God. God forbade seeking the peace or prosperity of aliens and always commanded aliens wives to be divorced and all children by them sent away with them. God’s Word is to be interpreted harmoniously; not contradictorily or negatingly. We are called to RIGHTLY divide the Word of Truth; not make it of none effect by self-serving interpretations that coddle sin and make room for it.]
TRUE religion, TRUE Christianity is GOD-centered; but the majority today who think that they are Christians follow a weak superstition of humanism (with a candy-coating of Christian “appearance” in a few weak, misconstrued areas) in which their “faith” (presumption) is not only man-centered, but is “experiencially” based. “If it feels good do it” and “the end justifies the means”. Those are the two “Great Commandments” of the modern Apostate “Christianity”. Man (including the average “Christian”) uses his sinful life as the template to which he tailor suits the Word of God (not vice-versa, as it should be); he uses his life as the pattern and traces it over the Word of God and cuts away the excess, and forces the Word of God to conform to sinful notions of “morality” recognized by a corrupt 20th century Apostate Church and State. We are to conform our lives to the NEVER-CHANGING Word of God. What God declared to be immoral and abominations NEVER change. Morality is forever established each time God declared, “Thou shalt not!” and “This shalt thou do!”
[God’s Promises and blessings are not for the causal, part-time, half-hearted Christians, but for those who are honorable, obedient sons who desire to please Him in all they do... not for those who go through the whole day (every day, their whole lives) as if God is not even there, without any thought that He is the BOSS... and go through their daily routine without ever asking the Boss what HE wants them to do. How long would they keep an earthly job if they never asked the boss what they were supposed to do (or knew what he wanted but refused to do it)...? David revealed if we have sin in our hearts the Lord will not hear our prayers. It does no good to “confess” sins, if one does not actually first REPENT of them and TURN from them. Repentance entails turning from what was forbidden and turning to that which was commanded—in addition to confessing and asking for forgiveness and making restitution as required. Anything less is “pseudo-spiritual” delusion. Solomon wrote that he who turns his ear from hearing the Law of God, even his prayers are an abomination to God; and John wrote that he who does not keep God’s Commandments, does not even know God and the Truth is not in him. Keeping the Law is not for salvation—it never was. It is the Moral Code by which God commanded us to live; God’s “House Rules” for His children; which set us apart as His people; being Holy as He is Holy: reflecting His Holiness as He commanded, and without which He will not bless, protect, or deliver.]
True religion is REVELATIONALLY based—based upon what GOD declared in His WORD, as He meant it at the time that He said it—not dependent upon modernist liberal man-centered interpretations. God is IMMUTABLE. God is Holy. God is Perfect. What God declared does not change to suit the perverse palate of sinful people of any era. Those who think that the Standard of Morality does change will find themselves in the position of these Canaanites at Jericho on the Day of Judgment.
The reason that NO spoils were to be taken in battle at Jericho was because it was the firstfruits. Firstfruits are holy* unto God and were to be burnt entirely with fire. The Hebrew word translated "dedicated" is also translated "accursed". This is the two-edged sword. It is dedicated unto God and therefore it is accursed to anyone else, and it is accursed to the thing itself, since it is to be utterly burned with fire. Since Achan stole that which was holy and dedicated, he and his family and all his possessions became accursed and were burnt with fire. Whatever touches the altar is holy. Even the fire and the ash and the smoke are holy! Those who have a problem with God being Holy and demanding to be worshipped in a specific way and demanding His creation to obey Him in all things, have a "god complex" that shall one day be destroyed when such a person realizes that he is in unremitting Judgment with no way out. The job of God's creation is to obey Him, not for the worm (maggot) to think that it knows better how order and run the universe than the One who created and owns it.
[* Modern “Christians”—who have no concept of “Holiness” and no concept of what “God” and “Lord” even mean—pooh-pooh the notion of holiness based upon their own low-crouching Limbo dance under the ever-lowered pole of “morality”. Again, experientially based humanists who deluded themselves that they are “Christians” base “holiness” upon what “makes sense to them” (having been raised in a polluted society). They are utterly ignorant of holiness; they are not God—and yet think that they are holier than God...! This can only be because they don’t know God. They are unconverted. Their own unregenerate “standard of morality” is what they decree reality to be because they imagine themselves to be their own gods in charge of their own destiny. Scripture rebukes them (but being spiritually dead, they think that the Old Testament is “obsolete” and that the God of the New Testament is a completely different God than the God of the Old—because they don’t know the God of either: Who is the SAME yesterday, today, and FOREVER)— “Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!” (Isaiah 45:9) “Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his Maker?” (Job 4:17) “And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.” (I Corinthians 8:2) “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the Knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (II Corinthians 10:5) “Humble yourselves therefore under the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” (I Peter 5:6) “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30) “16...all things were created by Him, and for Him: 17And He is before [superior to] all things, and by Him all things consist. 18that in all things He might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1)]
Numbers 14 explains the previous side of the Conquest: in which the spies were sent into Canaan and 10 came back with an evil, faithless report, and the people stupidly believed them; despite Joshua and Caleb’s vigorously voiced dissent and reminding the people of God’s Great Power and Faithfulness.
Some interesting highlights of the chapter:
“1And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
2And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, ‘Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
3And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?”
4And they said one to another, ‘Let us make a captain [leader], and let us return into Egypt.”
They got what they wanted, well, the first part of it.
While Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before God, Joshua and Caleb rebuked the people and even informed the Israelites concerning the cursed tribes in the land of Canaan “their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.”
This “defense” most likely meant that Egypt had ruled the area and had garrisons of troops in Canaan, but upon Egypt being destroyed, Egypt had recalled its troops in the attempt to salvage itself from ruins. In my S.T.E.C. on Jonah (634pp., pb., 32.00 + P&H) I point out that God had also declared that eventually Egypt would never again be any nation of significance on the world scene. How was this accomplished? I believe that after having been left in ruins, devastated by 10 plagues, and losing its 3 million or so Hebrew slaves, Egypt then imported Nubians from farther south in Africa to be their slaves—and then they began breeding with them, along with Arabs and Turks (Hittite-Canaanites) to produce the modern mongrelized “Egyptians” of the unstable Banana (or is that “Falafal”) Republic that it has ever been since about 700 b.c.
Scripture tells us that Moses was more meek than any man upon the earth. Fools like Philo of Alexandria accused Moses of being a tyrant and wanting to dominate the people and inventing his own rules; NOTHING could be further from the truth. As we saw earlier, it was the people themselves who in fear declared that they did not want to hear God’s Voice, but requested for God to speak to Moses and Moses to relay the message; and in the showdowns with Aaron and Miriam and with Korah, Dathan, and the other rebels, God made it quite clear that Moses was His chosen servant and representative. Here for the SECOND time (the first was after Israel sinned with the golden calfs) Scripture informs us:
“11And the LORD said unto Moses, ‘How long will this people provoke Me? and how long will it be ere they believe Me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?
12I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.’
13And Moses said unto the LORD, ‘Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for Thou broughtest up this people in Thy Might from among them;)
14And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that Thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen Face to face, and that Thy Cloud standeth over them, and that Thou goest before them, by day time in a Pillar of a Cloud, and in a Pillar of Fire by night.
15Now if Thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,
16 “Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which He sware unto them, therefore He hath slain them in the wilderness” ’.”
God promised to destroy the Israelites en toto and make a new nation out of Moses himself... Moses would be King-Patriarch. BUT, instead of thinking of his own power and greatness and glory—Moses cared about his sinful people and foremost he cared about GOD’S reputation (a sign that MOSES understood HOLINESS). Moses had no trouble with “I”-dolatry. He thought of God and his people, not himself. He even fasted twice without food or water, back to back, for 40 days each (total of 80 days). Let someone who is SELFISH and SELF-ABSORBED try that...! Let him try it even 1 month WITH water (as God had to have supernaturally sustained Moses, for under normal conditions a human cannot live more that 5 or 6 days without water before the kidneys shut down and the person dies of renal failure / dehydration).
Moses then besought God
“17‘And now, I beseech Thee, let the Power of my Lord be great, according as Thou hast spoken, saying,
18The LORD is Longsuffering, and of Great Mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
19Pardon, I beseech Thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the Greatness of Thy Mercy, and as Thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now’.”
God then grants Moses’ selfless, humble request—and God does not give the people what they deserve (punishing them to the 3rd and 4th generation of those who hate Him), but instead He was quite merciful:
“20And the LORD said, ‘I have pardoned according to thy word....
22Because all those men which have seen My Glory, and My Miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted Me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to My Voice;
23Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked Me see it’....”
[—other than the households of Moses, Aaron, Joshua, and Caleb.]
“28Say unto them, ‘As truly as I live’, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in Mine Ears, so will I do to you:
29Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against Me,
30Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein’,”
They thought it would be better to die in the wilderness—they got their wish; but God in His Mercy only punished that exact generation, age 20 and up.
They thought it would be better to die in the wilderness—they got their wish; but God in His Mercy only punished that exact generation, age 20 and up.
“31 ‘But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
32But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
33And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
34After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know My breach of Promise’.*
[* —that is, they would learn that God KEEPS HIS WORD.}
35I the LORD have said, ‘I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against Me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die’.”
Then, we have one final POWERFUL lesson in the end of this chapter, which I have long written in many of my books, that obedience has a “critical time period” which, after it has passed, JUDGMENT is the only possibility and the opportunity for obedience has been removed. This does not mean that one is simply to continue, stiff-necked, aloof, unrepentant into deeper sin; it means that without repentance, Judgment is inevitable. If true repentance is undertaken, God may not administer the fulness of that Judgment, or He may even prevent the Judgment altogether. However, those who don’t actually and truly and completely repent will never know what God’s Mercy could have been! Only a FOOL has the mindset, “Well, I’m already going to Hell, so what difference does it make...?” —it makes all the difference IN ETERNITY! Those who have such an attitude are devoid of God’s Spirit, don’t believe in Hell, and don’t believe that God exists. If they did believe, they would throw themselves upon the Mercy of the Court and not stop crying out for Mercy until FORGIVEN. They believe such self-destructive foolishness because God has closed their minds and sent that strong delusion. Tell me, how many people, after having burned their finger, then stick their whole hand in the fire, declaring: “Well, I’ve already burned myself—what difference does it make?” If you believe that any sane person would do such and believe such—try it sometime (if you are sane) and then “re-think” your position. The only answer to such depravity and foolishness is that they do not believe God exists (or they believe in a non-doctrinal, non-Biblical God of only “love”, which IDOL they have formed in their own corrupt minds), hence, they do not believe in Hell or Judgment. This defines the MAJORITY of most “Christians”—for if they actually believed in God (the TRUE God), they would not casually live as they do...!
However, the Israelites’ hearts were not right; as we see below. After receiving the word of God’s Judgment, they thought that by going through the motions of what God had commanded, without any true change of the heart or mind, that they could then avoid Judgment. Maybe they only thought pragmatically: We are going to die anyway, at least in battle against the Canaanites we have a chance?
“39And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.
40And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, ‘Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned’.
41And Moses said, ‘Wherefore now do ye transgress the Commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.
42Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.
43For the Amalekites and the Canaanites* are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you’.
[* The Amalekites were Canaanites (a sub-tribe of Edomites); as were over half a dozen other tribes. However, it seems that there was one tribe was known specifically after Canaan as Canaanites proper, in addition to all the other tribes that were Canaanite tribes that were called after the name of, descended from a specific son of Canaan (Hittites, Hivites, Gergashites, Sidonians, etc.)—or, they were a conglomeration of tribes that had so intermarried among themselves that they lost their patriarchal identity.]
44But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.
45Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.”
The people thought that they could simply take matters into their own hands—though unconverted, carnal, unrepentant. Their words may have “seemed” to be words of repetance; but they were NOT. They were words of counterfeit repentance, counterfeit spirituality, which they then proved by their actions in refusing to obey Moses, but again, to do instead what they wanted. It was not repentance of their sinfulness; they merely changed what they wanted to do—but still rejected God as being the Boss. Moses even warned and rebuked them; but they would not hear it: which showed that they had not repented. Had they truly repented, they would have fallen on their faces before God, as did Moses and Aaron. That is another tell-tale sign of godless, unconverted, reprobate carnality masquerading as spirituality—it cannot even learn by true spiritual example!
Works of the flesh, even those masquerading as “obedience” (Isaiah 29:13), profit nothing if the heart has not actually and fully repented. Such “good works” are themselves actually iniquity (Proverbs 21:4). The nature makes the works; not vice versa. “Out of the heart proceedeth [all evil deeds]...” Cleanse the inside first, and then the outside will also be cleansed. That is the intention of the 10th Commandment: aborting sin in the heart before it has a chance to be conceived and bring forth death.
Our perverse generation is exponentially more perverse than it was 35 years ago, when in 1983, Dr. Gordon H. Clark’s book, The Pastoral Epistles [inquire] was published 2 years before his death. If only he were here to view this disgusting world and equally disgusting mainstream Apostate Church, now, up close and personal! Dr. Clark, wrote, almost prophetically (compared to what things were like 35 years ago and what they are today) under II Timothy:
“3:12 And all who wish to live piously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
“This verse supports the interpretation given to the preceding phrase. Fortunately the United States with its Puritan and Presbyterian heritage has been free of persecution. It is still free of physical persecution. But political liberalism, socialism (always anti-christian), the emergence of women’s liberation, lesbianism and homosexuality, the legal attacks made by the government on Christian schools, including jail terms for Christian parents who send their children to Christian schools, the reluctance of universities to employ outstanding Christian professors, and the activism of those university students in riots, arson, and terror—all this presages the more systematic oppression that communism inflicts on Christians.
“The ‘main-line’ apostate denominations vigorously attack Christianity, both politically and theologically. They support Marxist regimes in Africa, and, not to begin a long list of items, the U.P.U.S.A. recently ordained a ministerial candidate who explicitly denied the deity of Christ, after which Monday Morning (May 12, 1980) a pastors’ periodical, published Robert B. McLaren’s article defending the ordination, arguing in detail against the doctrine, and lampooning the faithful as ‘shamefully uninformed pastors’.” (p.176)
The majority of “Christians” have no clue about how perverse the modern “Christian” church has become, and how polluted and pagan and antichrist its doctrine has become (those raised in a septic tank have no clue about purity or holiness—they only think the lowest levels of sludge are “impure”*). This is because the vast majority of “Christians” don’t know sound doctrine—and if they ever heard it they would reject it! They don’t want to know it (John 3:19; Mark 7:7; Matthew 15:6). If informed of their utter ignorance of true Bible doctrine, true theology, the majority do not care! This shows that they are not “Christians”. God has never drawn them to seek Him. They are content on their own pleasure cruise; going where they want; doing what they want; thinking what they want. They are not of God. God is not only not in all parts of their minds—He is not in their minds at all. A false god they created is there, as pretender to the Throne of God. God will not share His Glory with another (real or imaginary). There shall be an accounting One Day. Not only are they not Christ’s sheep (since they don’t know His Voice, they follow the philosophy of the world thinking that it is Christ, but it is Satan: they follow an Angel of Darkness masquerading as an Angel of Light)—they don’t even care to know Christ’s Voice (even as the sinful Israelites did not want to hear God’s Voice!).
[* “Unto the pure all things [that are lawful] are pure: but unto them that are defiled [contaminated] and unbelieving [faithless, that is, by extension, “unconverted”] is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled” (Titus 1:15) Again, imagine someone swimming in a septic tank covered in black slime. Anything that they touch is instantly contaminated. So it is with the minds of those who are devoid of God’s Spirit and reject what He ordained.]
A few years ago I spoke with and emailed a “Christian” who graduated from my Christian college (probably the best and one of the most-conservative in the nation, though it compromises more and more each year in their lust to be “friends of the world”, thinking that in so doing, they honor God). He was about 15 years older and graduated a few decades before I did. Someone put me in touch with him because he wanted to get typeset and proofread a book that his father had written before his passing, and he was fulfilling an obligation or showing respect to his father, who had written numerous books on his view of the interpretation of the words of the Greek New Testament (which books, in my opinion are of questionable value). The original manuscript had been typed in very fine print with a lot of Greek, and it was laborious for me to reytpe and correct and edit it, though it was a short book (I had to use a magnifying glass to actually read the Greek). When I found out that the son who was contacting me was a graduate of my college, I gave him a courtesy discount, and even did more than required. He seemed like a caring Christian. However, I was shocked and saddened when in a discussion, after asking me what I thought of the book, and I explained, he replied, “Oh, my church doesn’t get hung up on doctrine, we’ve found it is divisive”.
YES. It was MEANT to be divisive—it separates the wheat from the chaff and the sheep from the goats and the wheat from the tares! Christianity is DOCTRINE. It separates CHRISTIANS from humanists. Doctrine is THEOLOGY (not “humanology). Theology is what God has said ABOUT HIMSELF and about the REALITY THAT HE CREATED. Anything less is a humanistic delusion and false religion. True Christianity is about what GOD has decreed. It is NOT about what “feels good” to man. It is about OBEDIENCE to ALL that God commanded by the Regeneration and Power of the Holy Spirit in the one who has been converted. If there is no change to what God commanded, there was no conversion; only an emotional experience or some misperception about the accounting books of Heaven being changed to reflect that there is no longer any debt and you are free to go and live as you please (go as far into debt as you like!)—like a Catholic out of the confessional booth, as a Kentucky Derby champion out of the starting gate at the sound of the starter’s pistol.
[And aren’t starter’s pistols “violent”...? When will horse-racing venues change this horrible war-like practice and instead, to start off each race, have some women with a soft, motherly voice whisper, “We love all you horses no matter how you perform, on your mark, get set, go! (or don’t go; the winner is not necessarily the one who crosses the finish line first”—followed by turning on a soap bubble machine while the crowd eats cotton candy instead of peanuts.]
Last year I had carried on a brief email back and forth with a woman who was interested in obtaining multiple copies of a book that I reprint (she never ordered even a single copy). She said that she “preached” on the internet; and had a dozen or so youtube videos. Yes, the spirit of Jezebel is alive and well in the majority of women who consider themselves “Christians”. One of her videos I began to view, had a few good quotes from Spurgeon (she should have stopped there). However, her “Christianity” is one that oozes with emotion like a Southern Living cookbook sponsored by a show on interior design for “happy places”. She actually said in her intro (I kid you not): “God is crazy about His people.” Really? God is crazy? Does she not know the real meaning of words used in slang expressions to realize the grotesqueness of this declaration? Maybe her god is crazy, because he is not the God of the Bible. How do I know this? —because she had also emailed me and expressed sentiments to the effect: “You’ve gotta just get rid of the Old Testament and all that musty old doctrine. God’s not about doctrine... He’s just about love, love, love. Rock on Jesus strong!”
No thanks. I’ll keep my God and you can continue in your delusion with your idol... but there will be Hell to pay for leading others astray; especially since the spirit of Jezebel thinks that it can exalt itself above all that God has ordained and established as His (the only real) Hierarchy—the only reality. Understand, the spirit of Jezebel does not always reveal itself in the outright evil form of the wicked Canaanite princess; even as Satan does not always appear as vile, diseased darkness and death all the time (though there are vile followers of him in the most perverse and wicked forms imagineable)—he often appears as an “Angel of Light”, even parroting some of what Jesus Himself said, but with a perverse humanistic twist. If women want to be godly, they need to read Proverbs 31 and ask God to make that godliness a reality in their lives daily in how they live in submission to their husbands first: for that is the means by which godly submit to God: How they treat their husbands is the ONLY barometer of a married woman’s “godliness”. If a woman’s husband is utterly degenerate, then she must obey and honor her husband unless he demands something immoral; then, they are to obey God directly. They need to study the life of Sarah and the life of Abigail. If they don’t, and if they continue on their own evil way thinking that they are their own authority, independent and free to make decisions and do as they please (including leading people astray with false doctrine), then I’d recommend staying away from balconies, chariots, and dogs (study also the life of Jezebel and the life of Athaliah). You reap what you sow. If you can’t learn not to so by the example of learning about those who should not have sown what they sowed, then sow away!
[* It also needs to be realized that because Abraham hearkened to the voice of Sarah (who took it upon herself to change their obedience to what God declared), Ishmael was born!]
Christ said that when He returns He will command, “bring all those Mine enemies who would not that I rule over them and slay them before Me”. Jesus is not a warm, fuzzy “feeling”. He’s not all about “love, love, love”. This woman does not even know what BIBLICAL love is; she is seduced by human feelings. True love is self-sacrifice and obedience. Being a follower of Christ is obeying all that He and God commanded (because Jesus was a follower of God—in complete submission, without sin, who honored and obeyed God in all things and was always about His Father’s Business; not His own—for He HAD NONE of His own). Those who are not followers of Christ in this very fashion are rebels who reject Him (regardless of any “fond feelings”—based upon their humanistic delusions—they entertain of Him in their hearts). Being a follower of Jesus requires more than wearing a button that says, “I love Jesus” or “WWJD?”
[I guarantee you, in most all cases, He would not be doing what most “Christians” are doing. In fact, the motto should have been “AIEGTDWJWHD?” — “Am I Ever Going To Do What Jesus Would Have Done?” The limp, passive question is a dead end road. A warm fuzzy that goes nowhere.]
You cannot love and accept Jesus if you reject what He commanded. You don’t even know God if you don’t obey His Commandments—all of them; not merely the ones you choose to (which is not obedience). Wearing a button and telling others “Jesus loves you” is not only utterly meaningless, but it is an insult to Christ, if you ignore and refuse to do what He commanded (which includes, “Give not that which is holy to the dogs”). What Jesus commanded does not change with the times. He is the same: yesterday, today, and forever. “The world shall pass away but My Words shall never pass away.” “The Word of the Lord shall endure forever.” “I am Yahweh and I change not, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” The only valid mission of modern Christians is the exact same mission that Christ had—in every detail (“I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the House of Israel... as the Father sent Me so send I you”). Truth does not change. Morality does not change. God’s Word does not change. What changes is perverse minded false shepherds who call good “evil” and evil “good”; who switch light for darkness and darkness for light; who dimish God’s Law and institute their own instead (incurring God’s Curse and Judgment for themselves and all those foolish enough to follow someone who contradicts what God and Jesus declared). That transform the Masterpiece of God’s Word into something like a blind-man’s quilt, or a Picasso or Salvador Dali farse (an artistic mental breakdown)—and think that it is equally as valid. “Immorality: It’s the new ‘morality’.” “Black, it’s the new ‘white’.” “Corruption, it’s the new ‘purity’.” “Pollution, it’s the new ‘holiness’.” Christ shall fully reward those who think so.
Christ will command His holy angels to uproot every plant that His Heavenly Father had not planted and to remove all things that offend GOD... and they shall be removed and cast into the fire—accursed, even as the Canaanites and all the animals and all possessions of Jericho were. It will begin with a shout and a trumpet blast! and those who realize their own wickedness and hopelessness will wish that the walls of Jericho could fall on them to hide them from the Wrath of the Lamb—Who shall return as a Lion.
This initial Return (there is no “Rapture”*) will be the firstfruits of Judgment. It will then continue to the very last soul. MANY people who thought that they were “Christians”, Christ said, on that Day, shall cry, “But did we not do all these ‘wonderful works’ in Thy Name...?” Christ shall reply, “Depart from Me ye that work iniquity [lawlessness]. I never knew you”.
[* The Rapture is Zionist-Jesuit Counter-reformation propaganda unsupported by Scripture—and it is a “New Age” doctrine. See my, The Futurist and Rapture Conspiracy, 164pp., 14.50 + P&H.]
The only truly good works are those that God commanded (not those which sinful man, like Cain, prefers to give and thinks are suitable alternatives to what God commanded). Furthermore, those good works / obedience do not make the person good. Goodness proceeds forth out of a nature that God has made good; and every tree is know by its fruit.

[I had not intended to write this article. I had a few thoughts in my mind from morning my reading in Numbers and in Dr. Clark’s book. Then I was doing a google image search for a painting of the Battle of Jericho, for another project and the abstract “fine art” came up, as well as the other picture on the second page of this Rumination. The thoughts all sort of came together. Below are two other examples of REAL art of the Battle of Jericho, by REAL artists, the German artist Johann Heinrich Schönfeld (1609–1684). How accurately it depicts the Battle of Jericho, may be open to debate; but it is far-more accurate than a blind-man's quilt.
This one appears far-more accurate, and is also quite good. Though I could not find who the artist was.]
